Michigan DE Aidan Hutchinson ran a 4.75-second 40-yard dash at the NFL Combine.

It's another eye-popping 40-time for a very large man at the Combine. Hutchinson, who stands 6'7" and weighs 260 pounds, is expected to be a top-five pick in the 2022 draft, perhaps remaining in Michigan with the Lions. The 2021 Heisman finalist is confirming his status as an elite defensive prospect who has a shot at being the No. 1 overall pick.

he Boston Sports Journal's Greg Bedard reports the Patriots have talked to the Panthers about trading for WR Robby Anderson.

The Panthers are listening to offers on Anderson, who didn't record a single 100-yard game and had a 6% drop rate in 2021 after signing a two-year, $20 million extension. Trading Anderson would clear $9 million in cap space for the Panthers but leave $7.6 million in dead money. Anderson falls into the mold of understated receivers Bill Belichick likes and would have a clear path to snaps in New England. The Patriots are expected to target a veteran in a trade over drafting one this offseason.

Didn't I write that in the rumors thread yesterday? Or are you confirming me?

Thank you

Typical BK, wanting credit for being the first to copy someone else's work. It could be that they didn't read every thread and posted something they saw as new? Maybe?

with the 21st pick

Georgia DT Jordan Davis ran a 4.78 second 40-yard dash.

At 342 pounds, Davis posted one of the most impressive 40-yard dashes in Combine history on Saturday afternoon. For context, Davis' 40 time was under Patrick Mahomes'. It's the sort of Combine performance that sends a player skyrocketing up draft boards. Davis' Combine dominance surely grabbed the attention of any team looking to bolster their defensive line in the 2022 draft.

I've been saying Davis for a while.

Davis and Baremore?

Oh hell yes.

That would be like Wilfork And Seymour.

Good chance very good chance Davis won't be there at 21. The Eagles have three early in round one 15. 16 and 19 they would be foolish not to grab him. His draft stock skyrocketed this weekend. It would be interesting if he did fall and in round two the Pats could target a fast LB or DE. I just don't think he will there.

BB needs to just draft an X I hate to say it but if teams are grabbing OTs, DEs early good chance a top rated Z WR would be there.

It is pretty scary hearing the suggestion that BB draft a QB, isn't it?
It is but teams were able to stack the box on our RBs last year b/c we had no one to take the top off, no deep threat. Scary yes sure is may be what the team needs.

If this is correct, they will pretty much have to do it by draft.....

Exactly a vet true quality X will cost a lot and we don't have the space. I expect JC is gone too.

But a rookie would likely work

Wasn't Harry supposed to be top rated?

Is there a point we all don't already know?

Just saying that you seem to be implying that BB should draft a super awesome WR when it's a bit of a crapshoot apparently.

I am not implying there is a super awesome anything in the draft, I am saying we need an X so teams can stop loading the box to stop the run game. I am saying with the tight cap drafting may be a better option, I surmise there is no real guarantee with any draft pick they all come with risks.
