Geno Smith will start the Seahawks’ preseason finale against the Cowboys on Friday, but Drew Lock will play most of the game. In regard to which will be named Week 1 starter, coach Pete Carroll said he’s “wide open for whatever happens.” How very cool and chill of you, Pete. He did acknowledge that Smith has “been the guy in the lead position the whole time” and that Lock’s bout with COVID-19 disrupted the timeline.

The way the Broncos played Waitman as the punter and FG holder tonight- looked like Sam Martin has already been cut or traded.

I was thinking the same thing that Waitmann seemed to be given the best chance tonight to earn the job. Martin will catch on somewhere. I wouldn't be shocked if the Bills scoop him up in a hurry.

Any chance we could get a 6th or 7th from them? Obviously they know one of our punters will be cut but maybe they don’t want to take the chance they get picked up by someone.

I doubt it. Maybe they don't want to worry about it and throw a 7th for him, but if they know the Broncos are cutting him there will be little competition for him. Throw in getting the chance to join maybe the best roster in football would be tough to pass up unless another team made a huge offer.

IMO- There is a chance. There are a few teams that could use a punter. The biggest one being the Colts just lost theirs last week to an achilles tear.

Effort was ok, just a mental lapse …which may be worse. He clearly knew the rule as you could see him realizing he was in the act of F-ing up.

yeah end of play is where i saw lack of effort. just jogging into end zone not knowing where he was.
