While it is still early in free agency, BB's lack of action/results is at least a little concerning. The current roster is arguably weaker than the one that got blown out of the playoffs. Some are saying BB may be mentally tanking 2022 and looking to 2023 to make a playoff run. I don't think that is the case but I do have my concerns. Is BB using 2022 to evaluate the effect of a coaching staff with no official coordinators? The man generally has a plan, although sometimes they seem counter intuitive. I will just wait and see what unfolds. Hope he has a rabbit or two to pull out of his hat.

Bill has very little money to play with. He can't sign any of the top players because no one is willing to play cheap anymore. Even the Chiefs are starting to get nervous and paid JuJu Smith Shuster $10M to be the third or fourth target for Mahomes.

Don't expect to see any signings until the middle of next week, when the players remaining out there realize that the big money has been spent and finding a new home will be critical before teams start concentrating on the upcoming draft. He'll get a couple of guys on the cheap. Most likely an OL and an aging CB like Haden.

Speaking to the German Press Agency, Raiders FB Jakob Johnson said that the Patriots informed him he wouldn't be re-signed "because they will no longer have my position on the roster."

Josh McDaniels' desertion to Las Vegas appears to have shaken up New England's offensive design a little bit. This could be interesting news for a number of their skill position players -- less time with fullbacks could mean more snaps for tight ends and wideouts, smaller personnel could mean more of a space game for their running backs, and so on. Pats beat writer Mike Reiss compared Jonnu Smith's playing time (46.8% of snaps) with Johnson's (27.9%) and noted that for the money, Smith simply wasn't being used enough. That could change in 2022

One play wonder, I can pass on this
  • Is Malcolm Butler a good cornerback? Pro Football Focus gave Butler a 71.6 overall grade for the 2020 season. He ranked as the No. 15 cornerback in the league, according to PFF, a jump from his No. 21 ranking in 2019.

While Butler sat out the 2021 season, he was a very effective player for Tennessee in 2020, racking up 100 tackles, four interceptions and 14 passes defensed in 16 starts.

I guess I stand corrected. Yeah okay kick the tires depends on what the cost would be at this point.

I don't know either. Vet minimum prove it deal would make it more appetizing.
I will have to wait for BB and BigKen to decide.....

One play wonder, sure, but name any better play by a "one play wonder" ever... Not that I actually agree with that assessment. He did make a pro bowl then got a bit disillusioned by thinking somehow that BB would be the one who paid him. In the end, he got his money.

If BB says he can play then in BB I trust.
