No, because the kids playing on OKC and Houston are still playing for their future paychecks and giving their all. The franchise holds back the winning by pulling them off the court as necessary.
I lived through the process man. It’s a horrible experience for a basketball fan. The games become almost unwatchable. It’s the exact same thing. You’re drawing a silly arbitrary line. Some of us are just programmed to rah rah the big monolith and forget about the individuals involved. Apparently, in your mind set, it’s honorable for the Rockets to tell John Wall just sit down and don’t accumulate any more points rebounds or assists for a season of your career. It’s all tanking. You’ll clutch pearls over one manifestation but refuse to see the other side

And I’m comparing the two. They’re the same thing. One is done on the macro level and the other on the micro level.
So, you believe the Rockets sitting Wall all year to tank is the equivalent of Harden going full sloth to force a trade to Brooklyn?

I think both are pretty shitty.

It's a double standard.

Nobody was crying for Dragic last year nor Deng when the Lakers banished him to the cornfields.

But, fair or not, Harden is seen as the bad guy because he's done it twice.

Like who? Did they have the same level of leverage Harden had?
Are you saying he has a reason to give up? There is absolutely NO REASON to not put his full effort on the court, no reason. Who cares about leverage and plus it isn't the first time Harden has "given up". This is why he gets backlash and for good reason. I acknowledged the paycut but nothing suggests he is a different guy until we see it on the court. Hopefully he learned from the past.

This, plus flat out disappearing in the playoffs multiple times.

lol

If a team is tanking, they are doing so for the long term good of their franchise...often because they are in a market that doesn't attract top FA's and are trying to build a contender through the draft. As we have seen here with Cavs fans and Thunder fans, and Sixers fans before them, this is usually done with the fans blessing because they want as many high draft picks as possible.

Harden was tanking on teams that were trying to win, including one that was trying to win a title and whose fans were not expecting or on board with it.

So no, they aren't the same. You're trying to re-write history because Harden did what he did and your team has potentially benefitted from it.

Well i man he's a King..... so probably not lol
I think the Kings landed the guy who fits their current roster best.

Normally, you take the best player available if you are a bottom feeder.

We saw how wrong it went when they didn't take Luka or Trae just because they had Fox on the roster.

Ivey looks like the guy with the most upside.

But, I really think the Pistons and Kings ended up with the correct player.

I think a Sabonis/Keegan frontcourt can really work.

I want to pushback on this.

Alas, I see no lies here.

You have to honor your contract

So who was in Harden’s situation and came out and played 100%?

The Rockets were trying to win and that’s why they brought in John Wall? The Nets were trying to win with Kyrie only playing road games?

Anthony Davis in NOLA.

The team forced him to sit to protect against injury.

Like Harden, Jimmy Butler ( Minny) and Kawhi (Spurs) just totally sat out to force a trade.

The problem some have is that Harden has done it twice.
