That's not reality though, fans will always be hard tough on players and their teams bc they aren't actually playing or involved in the game.

You ever watch Fever Pitch? Jimmy Fallon is an obsessed fan and then he realizes the players know it's just a game/their career. The fans get more nervous than the players. I get more nervous watching a game then playing it other than pregame jitters.
Yes I know and yes I saw that movie. And the movie ends with Jimmy realizing his obsession was ruining his life. Perspective.

Not sure how this story becomes about Harden forcing himself out of two places. Both the Rockets and Nets for all intents and purposes quit on him.
Rockets - fire Morey and bring in Russ; then bring in John Wall after Russ didn’t work? Yikes
Nets - who goes to do the super team thing with KD and Kyrie and then a pandemic hits and Kyrie goes completely off reservation with his anti vaxx nonsense.

None of that stuff is in Harden’s control. He used his leverage to get the fuck out of problems he never created in the first place.

The only thing you can pin on Harden was him getting all up in his feelings about CP3 ragging on him and this resulting in Harden saying move the dude on. People love CP3 now but truth be told his abrasive style turned people off in New Orleans, Clipperland, and Houston. OKC experience created a more centered and better leader in CP3 going forward from there. Harden catches a bad rap on this begging out stuff.
This is such classic rooting for laundry stuff. Not saying it's all wrong, but there's no way you type this post if Harden isn't on the Sixers LOL

The spin game is real...point of view takes a hard left when the guy is on your roster.

Yeah definitely but it's a movie. In real life fans don't stop being fans. Even if fans aren't batshit crazy like cussing out players they are still hard on their teams. The normal fan is like a father teaching his son a game he loved growing up. The final goal you want him to succeed just like every fan for their favorite team. There are ALWAYS going to be fans that take it too far and there is nothing anyone can do about it...sometimes that's what makes competition fierce though and it's been a part of the game forever. Fans talking trash to players and then players showing them up and coming up clutch. That's the best.

I’ll own that. Does it make anything I’ve posted less true?

There are certainly things to criticize Harden for. His poor training ethic. His moodiness.

But everything Funbags wrote is accurate. The Rockets have been a dumpster fire since they fired Morey. There was no way the Rockets were going to get back into being contenders with Harden and Wall on the team. It's entirely reasonable for him to want out.

The Nets continue to be a dumpster fire.

Say what you will about Harden, he does want to win. And he clearly is willing to take less money to make that happen. How is that bad?

Narrative has been written. And to be fair, the only way that he and Embiid change that is to make people respect it by winning the thing.

It makes it glass half full, which it should be, that's what rooting for your team is about.

It's just part of the game, once a player comes to your team you gotta spin it that way. And get a little grief for it.

It's very plausible Harden has finally gotten his head right now that's he's running out of time to get a ring.

Like I said above, it's right and proper for you and funbags to be on the Harden train now. But it's also right and proper for us to give you a little shit about it, because we know your posts would be different if Harden had forced his way to another team.

I agree Harden is doing everything right now, so we'll see how he looks on the court. The money give back was huge, and rarely seen.
