There are certainly things to criticize Harden for. His poor training ethic. His moodiness.

But everything Funbags wrote is accurate. The Rockets have been a dumpster fire since they fired Morey. There was no way the Rockets were going to get back into being contenders with Harden and Wall on the team. It's entirely reasonable for him to want out.

The Nets continue to be a dumpster fire.

Say what you will about Harden, he does want to win. And he clearly is willing to take less money to make that happen. How is that bad?

In both cases when he wanted out, he tanked his performance on the court. Asking out and tanking are two separate things.

Yup.

If Harden comes into camp jacked up, that might help.
I am less than creative. I would go do that us against the world thing to fuel their team goals and energy this season. World hates Harden. Doc doesn’t belong mentioned in that top 15 list. Embiid is never healthy come playoff time. Etc…. Worked once before

Haha fuck that noise. He plays in a league where a rebuilding method is to tank. So organizationally teams (including the Lakers) can purposefully tank but there’s some special rule where a player can’t do the same thing to leverage a move? Come on now. Were you critical of the post Kobe Lakers for their tanking?

As were Ben Simmons'
Yep. If you remember correctly I was the guy who was in the camp of “please stay away”. Him staying away helped to reduce the distraction level. At the same time, it closed the door on any reconciliation. I will thank Simmons for the way he played it. He could have been much much worse. Not gonna be heartbroken if Simmons gets back some of the 20 million

You're missing the point. I'm not talking about a team tanking, I'm talking about Harden playing like shit intentionally.

So, Westbrook, Mitchell, Barrett and Brunson?

I'm assuming Rose, Fournier and parts go back to the Lakers and the Knicks want a pick or two?

This is even worse than the Jazz trade.
It really doesn't need to include the Knicks, unless the Lakers are taking back pieces from both squads.

And I’m comparing the two. They’re the same thing. One is done on the macro level and the other on the micro level.

Like I said above, it's right and proper for you and funbags to be on the Harden train now. But it's also right and proper for us to give you a little shit about it, because we know your posts would be different if Harden had forced his way to another team.

I agree Harden is doing everything right now, so we'll see how he looks on the court. The money give back was huge, and rarely seen.

All we can judge him on his how he acts in Philly. IMO, he's still in Brooklyn if Kyrie wasn't a lunatic.

Yup. Harden wanted to play for a contender. Simmons wanted to play for someone who won't hurt his fee fees.
At some point, does Harden realize the reason he hasn't played in a finals is that he's on the squad eating up valuable cap space? He and CP3 should ride out their careers together on a non-contender to keep from sandbagging someone else's chances.

No, because the kids playing on OKC and Houston are still playing for their future paychecks and giving their all. The franchise holds back the winning by pulling them off the court as necessary.

Couldn’t you argue that the player who opted out of 47.5 million to take a 15 million dollar payout for 2022-23 season already there?

Umm, Harden took at least a 15 million dollar pay cut this year to help the Sixers build their roster. Seems like he has at least some idea of this.
