It was teammates in a practice, not a street fight. You clearly have Dray baggage.

Doesn't matter. When someone run up on you like that, it isn't to ask you how's your day going?

Coming over there to put hands and feet on you.

Skip said it best yesterday, swing first and talk later.

That is the motto JP needed when Dray approached him

Wrong.

It was most likely going to be a shoving match, like almost every other time players get in each other’s face.

Whoever threw the first punch, it would have been wrong. And they absolutely deserve a consequence.

You are not wrong here but I rather be wrong instead of being embarassed for the rest of my life. If JP connected first then the video doesn't look as bad because at least he would have been on video getting a shot in

But doesn't the result of this encounter prove that @bksballer89 is correct? Draymomd was going to punch him.

And aren't fights common in the NBA? Poole punches him and it's no big deal, right?

You're right. But if Poole had done that, all the Draymond stans would call Poole a punk and they'd say that Draymond would never have punched Poole. At least now we know that Draymond is a bully and a punk. No reasonable person would say otherwise.

No, everyone else understands that fights happen in practice and wouldn't have cared.

We don't know if Draymond is going to punch him or not. Dray didn't punch him until Poole shoved him.

What bks and Mecca said is that if someone approaches them like Dray approached Poole, they aren't waiting to find out if they're getting punched. They're taking the initiative and dealing with the consequences later.

And yes, fights are common and no one but you would care.

A lot of words over a player who won't be there next year

I don’t think it is as big a deal as you are making it.

But whoever throws the first punch in this situation is going to be wrong.

And you can’t use hindsight like that.

Draymond did punch him. That is why we are talking about it. That was never the most likely outcome when they first came together.

In this specific incident, it was the most likely outcome. It's just self-evident. Did Draymond punch him? Yes.

What you're really talking about is how should players act in the future? You're right that a player shouldn't be looking to throw a punch in a normal situation. However, with certain teammates, maybe they should either punch or walk far away.
