Yup, Curry was a unique type of player coming out that the league has never seen before.

Now every college hooper like Fredette, or Hield are compared to him.

Fredette was the most overhyped player to enter the league since Danny Ferry. All time great CBB player. He had a helluva jump shot but that was it. Even in college he got shutdown by bigger more athletic defenders.

The Hield comparison to Steph is way more accurate. It took Hield 350 games to hit 1,000 three's. The quickest. Steph got to 1,000 three's in 369 games.

Steph had ankle injuries early on.

If you think about it...

It was a blessing.

Because of his health problems, they got him on a 12 mil per year deal.

Fucking GRAND LARCENY.

Had they paid him what he was eventually worth, those other moves may not have happened.

OJ drugged himself out of the league.

Morrison just wasn't good enough.

But, I totally agree.

You can add Thon Maker, the original YouTube over hyped sensation, Dante Exum who I thought was Penny Hardaway 2.0, Andrea Bargani who only avoids mention because Kandi man and Kwame were worse #1 overall picks, and Thabeet.

I never liked him. Gotta be honest. I thought he was way overrated. Great shooter, not much else. I was still in the Vegas area for the first three years of his college career. And the over the top hype about him started his junior year.

He was a great CBB player. But like alotta great CBB players his peak wasn't the NBA. When in college I was comparing him to Steve Alford.

I've been following CBB since the early 80's and watched all the great players. But the hype around Jammin' Jimmer and how great he was started way too soon. He could do no wrong. Greatest shooter this & one of the greatest CBB players of all time that.
