Literally nothing about this makes a

You already have two recent first centers on your roster

You had teams supposedly willing to offer firsts for him….and you do this?

Feels like more Danny pettiness.

If it was consensual, 1 year suspension? Morals clause I guess? Seems a bit strong...
Not if they have a non frat clause in his contract.

Again: Rosas got fired for this in Minny.

Again: Rosas wasn't great at his job and they wanted to hire the guy from Denver.

Ime is winning.

So, I'm sure there they want to keep him.

For a guy missing the start of training camp?

That’s just the beginning. They’ve been doing this with SGA for a long time now. When is enough enough? When are they actually going to be done tanking?

I’m sorry you are so offended. The guy will play every game he is capable of playing this season, i don’t see him sitting much.

That far out they should be unprotected

The 2027 pick isn't that far off. You could talk me into the 2029 pick being unprotected. But generally, I'm against any team trading any pick totally unprotected unless its for a superstar or something like that. Picks do have value. It's not too much to ask to slap a Top 3 protection on it. You still gotta go thru the lottery odds to get there anyway so odds are the team receiving the pick will still likely get the 1st round pick.

You can’t defer it because it can’t be pushed to 2028 due ti Stepien rule and can’t be pushed to 2031 because nba rules don’t let you trade picks that far away

It is use it or lose it

Not worth that gamble

Then flip it. Make 2027 unprotected and put the protection on 2029. 2029 if it hits the protection would convey to 2030 (not 2031).

Actually, if that’s not just a non-answer he’s saying what I always thought. He needed to be humbled. He needed to be reminded that he hasn’t done shit. Telling past comment when asked by a reporter if he has to add a jump shot to his game… his response was “I’m an NBA All Star”. The kid thought he was done and he could just show up and that was good enough. Hopefully for his sake this was his Come to Jesus. I hope for his sake he has been humbled and he has gone into the lab to work to become a better player and a better teammate. If not, it’s just one more story of wasted God given ability. He could have been an all timer (and he’s young enough where he still can if he diverts the current path).

Interesting notes about the bog trade

Sounds like avoiding the tax was the primary concern
