This is totally insane.

You know how much better the Lakers would be given their current roster if they were able to trade Russ for Hield and Turner?

As is they could struggle to make the playoffs.

But moving the worst fitting redundant piece for 2 players who fit really well?

Title contention would be attainable.

Incredibly stupid if these reports are true.

If they truly just discussed this recently, these are simple negotiation tactics. Pacers want to move Turner, Lakers seem to the be the only team interested so they lowball, Pacers want more so they release the news item they will start the season with Turner, etc. Meet in the middle with one unprotected pick and one protected pick, unless the Lakers are also working other potential options too?

it's been posted here already, but protected picks have no value since they're at the tail end of how far out the lakers can offer picks. It becomes an all or nothing type scenario. Which is not appealing.

That metric is retarded. In Charlie Weis first season he beat #3 Michigan. That Michigan team only win like 6-7 games and finished unranked. In your book, that goes down as beating a top 5 team? Yikes. Nevermind. This conversation can’t even get off the ground when your methodology is completely stupid. The Final AP poll has the most data available in those rankings. In a conversation about past seasons it’s the only metric that matters when talking about ranked teams.

It's the way it has always been done and it's the info I looked at. Nothing more.

If you're betting against the future of the Lakers, knowing their past, the difference between protected and unprotected isn't as drastic given those odds.

What offers are they going to get for Turner at the deadline if he has a destination he prefers that is different? They wouldn't announce he'll start the season with the team if they had other takers. Plus, Hield's value is declining as his 3% (his selling point) has declined 4 years consecutively.

The bold is why I think that if they're going to end up giving up both firsts, it should be in a Bog deal with Utah. He's been more consistent.

I believe Danny is saving quite of a bit of money here….

Update:

By my calculations jazz are saving around 5m

But got nothing of value in return for that savings

Something else gotta be going down

Ime better take this lying down, just like his mistress.

There is precedent for his firing....and it just happened.

It wasn’t two losing seasons that got Gerrson Rosas fired.

On Thursday — one day after the Timberwolves fired President of basketball operations Gersson RosasESPN’s Ramona Shelburne reported that his dismissal was due to a consensual romantic relationship with another team employee.
