Minny and Cleveland are playoff teams so those picks in 22, 25, 26 and even 27 likely to be mid to late 1st’s.
He definitely got a lot of trade capital there at worst but players have to become available and want to go to Utah. Who wants to be in Utah?

They can still get more draft picks for some of those players and/or guys on the current roster. Gotta do something with the picks to WIN these trades though. Won’t know for a looong time

Vanderbilt and Mark are very nice role players but their ceiling seems limited.
Two unknown rookies.
Sexton could be an all-star caliber player.

We will see.

Vanderbilt is an ideal role player as he doesn’t need the ball to be effective.

He’s a legit all nba level defender

Ideal for a team who has a c who can shoot 3s

Gonna have to hit on a couple if their own picks and get some luck in the lottery. Getting Wammdbdjdidida would be a nice start

Well that’s it. They’re gonna have high picks themselves in 23 and 24 at the very least

Plus they can maneuver the draft with those other picks

Yeah true they can trade future 1st’s to move up in a strong draft like we saw teams do this year. Actually way more likely they use it for that purpose than trading for a star/all-star

if they SD4V well enough, they may be able to trade for a star in 25/26 or something.

But yeah, mostly they'll be maneuvering the board to get their guys.

although I don't recall Danny moving up often in the draft.

That was all our beef with Danny last time he had a zillion picks

Didn't move them

He also had some bad luck

The grizzlies got morant? Which was total bullshit

And the kings had a random heater than tanked their draft pick

And he traded the best one for kyrie

LeBron left Cleveland 4 years ago and the Cavs had little assets left, an old roster, and had traded a ton of assets, picks, etc. to compete while LeBron was there.

4 years later the Cavs have Donovan Mitchell, Darius Garland, Evan Mobley, Jarret Allen, Isaac Okoro, Kevin Love, Caris LeVert, Ricky Rubio, Cedi Osman.

Look at so many other teams that just have not won anything and have not put together much of anything.

In 4 years the Cavs rebuilt after LeBron left the first time, and have done it again. That is an impressive job.

Yah- I realize there is some real risk involved for the cavs- and trust me- I am a draft pick guy---- but with Mobley, Garland, Allen and Mitchell being so young- its hard for me to believe anything except the last pick or two has a chance to be a high quality pick.

If I was the Jazz I would have much rather grabbed the knicks picks and Barrett.

right now the best Cavs player is Mitchell without a doubt. He scored 50 in the playoffs last year- is 25 (soon to be 26) and has been to 3 all star games. Ithink guys hit their primes around 27-29 in the NBA for the most part and the Cavs will get his prime years at the very least.

If Mobley can move his timeline up and really take a step up in the next year or two the Cavs have a legit shot at winning a conference and getting to the Finals and then who knows.

Harden wont be in there forever in Philly and Embiid is not getting younger or less injury prone. Miami has their own age issues.

as currently constructed- I see the Celtics being the one team that could be a major obstacle to the Cavs- and maybe the Bucks but Middleton is a FA after this year and Holliday is not getting any younger either.
