@WiggyRuss @Shanemansj13 @dtgold88 ....

Bobby Marks just made a interesting point.

Either Mitchell or Garland would need to be gone or you are not allowed to sign Mobley to a 5 year max in 2024.

You can still do it a year later, if he's willing to wait, because Mitchell could opt-out.

I may have gotten some of that wrong. So, you might wanna verify.

But, he definitely said 2024 is out...for 5 years.

4 years, sure.

But, a player like him?

I'd do 5 years no options...lol

Can't let him get away.

Mitchell is a All-Star caliber player.

He's better than Sexton, who you were gonna lose in a year if you didn't overpay him.

I don't need half a second to think about which guy I'd rather have on a max deal.

We have no idea what the rookie would have given you.

No, it doesn't make you a top contender in the East ......YET.

But, if Mobley, Allen, Garland continue to take steps, we might be singing a different tune in a year or two.

Some people act like you have a roster full of 35 year olds.

The Clippers have to win now.

The Clips, Suns, Bucks, Celtics, Nets are win or bust.

The Cavs are not.

You guys are the Eastern Conference Grizz.

Yeah, I don’t love the trade for either side.

But I am closer to liking it for Cleveland than I am for Utah.

Yes and no.

Massive overpay for a player who isn’t that great.

But I think Ainge outsmarted himself here.

Fewer picks and lesser players from the Knicks would have eventually turned out better for Utah.

Cleveland going to be in the playoffs next few years.

IDK WIndy had the knicks giving them 5 picks and players...

On an unrelated, megalomaniacal point, the Mitchell acquisition just further fuels my anti-Cleveland agenda. Really hate his game. I think he doesn’t give a fuck about defense and is nothing more than a volume shooter. As many have pointed out, (@bksballer89 and @Shanemansj13) that could be a product of the offensive group around him in Utah but I gotta see it to believe that he can thrive without taking 20-25-30 shots a game.

Thanks. Now I have to wipe off the coffee I spit all over this phone haha.

I mean...obviously I love me some cleveland but even with Lebron there no superstar was like "fuck yea Cleveland!!!"

They could have said....hey donovan..NBA just put a franchise in Gary and the dude would've cartwheeled his happy ass to Gary. Once he figured out what state it was in.

I don't see Mitchell as the "clear upgrade" that you do. I mean, he's better if that's all you mean but not sure how much better. FYI, the Cavs won 60%+ of their games with sexton last year and 52% without.

He is a clear upgrade.

Better player, better fit, more upside.

But still not worth 5 draft picks.

Well for a black man Utah to Indiana is like out of the frying pan and into the fire. There’s more active Klan in Indiana today than in any other state.

Now that Mitchell is gone, let's discuss how big of a failure that Utah group was

They weren’t though

If anything they overachieved.

No superstars and their second best player was Rudy Gobert.

We will see with Bickerstaff. This starting lineup are all players that do play top level defense except Garland. Garland hopefully can develop like Steph defensively…maybe all that motivates him to be an average defender. Not expecting much defensively from him.

On another note, I think the Cavs are very happy to not give up Okoro and LeVert. They seem to love LeVert

I actually like the Cavs deal better because of the players they got back.

I'm not high on Sexton.

But, if he plays well for a few months, they can flip him easily for even more assets.

They got him on a good contract.

Its not like they want to win games.

They can let him cook and con teams into believing the hype of empty numbers.

They can probably flip Lauri now.

But, getting Obaji is a nice coup.

3 and D wing who shot 40% from 3 in college last year to pair with Vanderbilt or shit....to flip again.

As for the Knicks deal....

I might not be high on Sexton.

But, I'd rather have him at 4/72 over Barrett at 4/120.

Pressure is on him to keep getting better as a young coach.

Yeah, I will wait to judge the Utah side before seeing what he does with the players.

I always assumed his plan was to tank this year. And I don’t think these players do him any favors on that front.
