There is no way that the Lakers SHOULD bring Westbrook to camp after all this.

He's a hothead.

Bev is a troll.

Toxic does not begin to describe combining those two personalities.
Well, BKS thinks they can talk it out.....no?

They can't start them in the same backcourt?

Most of that speculation seems to be based on Lebron's tweet.
It looks like they're trying to leverage the Spurs and Pacers. Of course they'll try to keep one of the picks. Why wouldn't they? As the article suggested, if things seem to start heating up on a Spurs trade, maybe the Pacers lower their asking price. From what has been said, if it's a deal that bumps them from a 9 seed to a 7 seed, they aren't giving up both. If it bumps them into the top 4 or 5 seed, they will. Lebron seems to still want Kyrie. So they may be willing to go into the season and see if the Nets fall apart...or they may be looking for a deal that allows them to go after Kyrie next off season. I think the Hield/Turner deal would put Kyrie out of their price range for next season. I agree that getting Pat Bev for less means that they can spend more to move Westbrook, but it doesn't mean they have to. It gives them a little bit of leverage. Nothing wrong with trying to use that leverage. They just have to make sure they don't overplay their hand.
For sure alot of speculation going on here. As you mentioned TJF12, if the Indiana deal falls away, the Lakers have now been implicated in proposed trades with the Bees for Hayward and Rozier. Kyrie will be a long-term interest. Moving Westbrook out the door is the more pressing immediate issue. The sticking point in all of this continues to be just how many, (if at all) future draft picks the Lakers are willing to part with in any proposed trades.

Depending on who you read, one day the Lakers are willing to let go two Number ones, the next day they are not going to include any. I still think Jeannie Buss doesn't want to trade anymore future draft picks, especially Number ones because I am quite certain she understands that when the James era finally ends in three or less years, the Lakers will then be in nearly full-on rebuild mode and you won't be able to do much when you have mortgaged away all those Number Ones.

No, I absolutely believe you are currently better defensively.

I thought that BEFORE you got Beverley.

So, his addition makes it more so.

The problem is still the shooting.

Bev shoots .41 % from the field.

Not great.

He shoots .38 from 3.

That's good. But, he only takes like 4 a game.

As for Kyrie, I don't know.

Dude flips more than a light switch.

He said he was staying in Boston, he didn't.

He said he wanted to be a Laker. But, only narrowed it down to them when no other team was interested.

He's now saying he wants to be a Net, with or without Durant.

I wouldn't be surprised if he played well and signed a contract extension during the Season with the Nets.

I wouldn't be surprised if he got suspended from the team during the first practice for conduct detrimental to the team.

Mercurial, elitist, weirdo headcase.

That's why I think they will ultimately do the Hield/Turner trade. Basing anything off of what Kyrie says is risky at best. Plus, they already got burned a couple of times waiting on guys that they thought were definitely getting...hopefully they have learned from that.

Hield would be the gunner for 8-10 a game. And the looks he would get with AD and James? Unlike any open looks he got in Sac or Indy. Might have a career high. Or at least hit 40% again.

James takes about 7-8 a game and I think he can up his to 38%. He made 37% a few seasons ago. With AD, Hield, and Turner? He gonna get some open looks.

Bev would get his 4 a game and I think he can rebound after a down shooting year.

That's 20 or so right there.

Nunn can make some treys at a respectable clip. Career 36.4% shooter.

Melo comes back? And I think it's possible. He can shoot.

League average last season for teams was like 35%.

Yeah, the Nets, Irving, and KD fucked around during FA.

We were talking about the Lakers if they don't do the Indy trade.

Ok. Playing DEVILS ADVOCATE.

James takes about 7-8 a game and I think he can up his to 38%. He made 37% a few seasons ago.

Bev would get his 4-5 a game and I think he can rebound after a down shooting year.

Nunn can make some treys at a respectable clip. Career 36.4% shooter.

Melo comes back? And I think it's possible. He can shoot. Averaged 6 last season and made 38%.

Reaves made 32% as a rookie and can certainly up that to 34-35%. Like most youngsters improve.

League average last season for teams was like 35%.

Just buying out or flat out releasing RW makes them better at outside shooting, made just 29%.
