Wow

Do you believe this?

Beverley’s arrival makes it more likely that Westbrook will be off the active roster by the start of training camp, either through a trade or the team sending him home a la the Rockets with John Wall last season, according to a source close to the situation.

Trade, yes. I don't think it will come to John Wall-ing him.

They did it to Deng, remember?

If the Lakers are still squabbling over giving up those picks in a trade, that's ridiculous.

I'm actually starting to feel bad for Westbrook...if this is true.

Not only do you trade for my arch nemesis to replace me.

But, you just send me home with pay?

Haven't seen anything to indicate they are squabbling over picks. The latest reports are that they will give up both picks for the right deal. They aren't giving them both just to move Westbrook.
Why in the hell would they want Westbrook in camp with Pat Bev there? That's just asking for a problem.

They're grown man. All of the issues seem to be on the basketball court....nothing that can't be settled with a talk

Bingo TJF12. That is exactly what is going to happen unless they move Westbrook out the door. The Lakers are not going to commit NBA suicide by publically blaming James for his huge encouragement to sign Westbrook which is exactly what occurred.

Nope, they are going to try and move Westbrook out of the building because a continuing feud in the open will just ruin and destroy ANY chemistry and team play that Ham puts together.

So if Jeannie has to pay him to stay home, that is what they will do because the Lakers' brain trust views the cost of sending Westbrook home way lower and with way less damage to the long-term team success than have him destroy the franchise in the open by sulking and taking shots at James and other players in the LA media every chance he will get.

I would be more concerned if this was some Draymond/tristan beef. Unlike that beef, this one always stayed on the basketball court. Don't think it is that serious

Blaming him for everything last year which is what a move like this would indicate is wild. This is why I'm not mad when players demand trades with several years left because you have teams that just send players home and waste a year or 2 of their career

The move wouldn't indicate that they're blaming Worstbrick for anything. It would indicate what everyone already knows. The Lakers don't want him and he doesn't want them. Not sure why people would think there would be any other reason.

Knowing the competitor he is, i am certain if his 2 choices are play with the Lakers or waste a season at age 34 with a handful of seasons left his career then he wants to play basketball this season

Think they'll end up finding a trade for him.....not too worried.

Just liking the addition of Bev right now.

What makes you think he has a choice?

He doesn't but my point is this new trend that started years ago of sending players under contract home for the entire season is lame and is no different than players demanding trades with several years left on their contract. Both are wack and should be addressed in the next CBA

If the Lakers John Wall Westbrook (and they will if they can't trade him to someone), there is a good chance at some point in the season he trots into Pelinka's office and demands a trade. To wit, Pelinka will probably instruct him to find a trade partner and that is what will lead to a trade. Unfortunately, Westbrook will discover then that nobody out there wants him and then maybe he'll want to flip like Irving and KD suddenly did last week. That's a big maybe.
