Just unloading RW's contract will help our outside shooting.
Addition by subtraction.....LOL.

Pretty sure Turner would walk in the summer....the Lakers would have bigger fish to fry so to speak.IMO, THT was never going to realize any potential he may have with Lebron in LA. He is not a great fit with Lebron on the floor. IMO, for impact upon this season, Stanley Johnson would've been as valuable for LA as THT. Bev basically moves Johnson's defense to guard, where it is needed more. Bev's 3 pt shooting was down with the Wolves last year, but was approx 40% during his time with the Clips and Rockets. Floor spacing, ball handling, and defense all great fits with Lebron. Bev doesn't have the athleticism of THT, but otherwise he's the better fit now of the three.
As you noted, the additional flexibility next season could be huge too. That might give the Lakers some pause with the Pacers deal, which has Hield due $19M in 23/24 and an extension for Turner assumed ultimately if acquired. That potential cap savings for next season could be gone in a flash.
What free agents are available that would be better than Oubre?I'm not sold on Oubre with better shooting options potentially available.
Your squad is filling up with guys you can't standCouldn't stand the S.O.B. personally. But fuggit, he's on our squad now...
That Marques Johnson's son?
Spot on TJF12. The Hield/Turner trade is next along with Westbrook leaving! It makes the Lakers better because Pat Bev fits with Lebron far better than Westbrook. Pat Bev plays defense, Westbrook doesn't. Pat Bev can hit the 3, Westbrook can't. Pat Bev doesn't need the ball in his hands a lot to be effective, Westbrook does.
It doesn't make them contenders, but it does make them better.
Get the Hield/Turner trade done...then they can be looked at as contenders if they stay healthy.
It's officially ugly lol...Your squad is filling up with guys you can't stand
All that is left is whether the Lakers send both Number ones to Indiana or split them-up if the Bees get involved. The Lakers are now willing to part with both 1st rounders in the right deal.....this was back on the 17th.
Woj: Lakers Willing To Trade Two First-Round Picks
They would reportedly send both to Brooklyn in a Kyrie Irving deal, but the Nets aren't interested.www.hoopsrumors.com
To say he is a better fit than Westbrook isn't saying much -An over the hill Shaq Oneal would be a better fit - but I do agree being that while he is an old man and going to be injury prone(They always are by the time we get them), I do think he will play better defense. It makes the Lakers better because Pat Bev fits with Lebron far better than Westbrook. The bigger picture here, however is that the Lakers now will have 34 million under the salary cap next year to sign a free agentTHT isn’t going to improve on this roster that is championship or bust. There was a reason we didn’t see true progression out of Ball, Ingram, etc. until after they left. THT is still young but he doesn’t fit the roster. He was better off on another team anyway. Beverly right is better at every almost aspect than THT and THT is a very low % shooter right now. No place for him on the current roster

That wasn't the reason they Lakers made this move though - Tucker had a player option for next year - and Beverly doesn't - The Lakers will now have something like 34 million under the cap to sign any free agent they want. That is what that trade was about.
That may be, but then we saw Ingram improve - as I expected, however, the Lakers were dumping THT to get rid of that player option and now have 34 million under the cap next year to run at a third playerIMO, THT was never going to realize any potential he may have with Lebron in LA. That is pretty funny.....Yo, on Twitter they are calling the backcourt duo of Pat Bev and Russ...
Trick y'all and brick y'all
The internet is a cold ass place...lol

I like him as a player and yes, he is a better player than Tucker and a better fit - but I am concerned about his age - He is 34 and the Lakers need to develop some younger talent coming off the bench in my opinionYes and no. I'm sure the cap for next off-season had something to do with it. But Pat Bev brings pretty much everything the Lakers lacked last season. So I think they would look to get him anyway. That he doesn't effect their cap next off-season is an added bonus.
Imo, getting Pat Bev means that it's imperative that they get something more done. You really don't want Pat Bev playing more than about 25 minutes per game Partly because of his age, but also that "dawg" and "irritant" that he is can have diminishing returns when the refs get tired of his act.
