To get both? I think they would need to include both 1st rounders....1 just to get Indy to take RW....the other 1 and maybe even a 2nd for the players they get back.
Lots of speculation going on at this point. I just posted under the rough summary of what will eventually be a reality but just like the Beverley deal, the Lakers are trying to avoid or limit moving future number ones and twos, if at all. Jeannie is sticking to her guns and wants as few if any future picks included in any deals even though she recently was chided to the reality that picks may be involved to move Westbrook. So we shall see how the details play out in the coming weeks.

I think the Lakers will now move Westbrook and a Number One to Indiana for Hield/Turner.
It makes sense. Flipping THT for Beverly straight up was huge imo. I like that trade for LA. They needed another ball handler, perimeter defender and shooter. If they get Hield-they add another shooter. Turner is a 3 and D guy that can rim protector. All those are fits imo.

Don't know if this a good deal or a MEH one.
Personally, I don't see it as a good move that makes the Lakers better - Talen Horton Tucker is only 21 and still has room to improve and learn as a player - Points per game, about the same where Beverly is 34 and past his prime. Johnson is a zero factor - but If the move was made to get rid of the player option for next year on THT, then the Lakers are most likely looking to a step to move that will result because of this trade.

The Lakers are now willing to part with both 1st rounders in the right deal.....this was back on the 17th.

And if they wanted to.....they could let Turner walk next summer along with Beverley and have a little room to manuever and get somebody else.

The Bees need a Center.

I could see you splitting the difference in a trade with Indy.

Indy gets Westbrook and a pick from Lakers.

Bees get Turner and sends Indy another 1st.

Lakers get Buddy and Kelly Oubre.

Hayward makes too much.
This lady proposed I trade I would be down with.

So basically....pretty much the team they would have had last year if Lebron and AD didn't lobby for Westbrook. lol

THT isn’t going to improve on this roster that is championship or bust. There was a reason we didn’t see true progression out of Ball, Ingram, etc. until after they left. THT is still young but he doesn’t fit the roster. He was better off on another team anyway. Beverly right is better at every almost aspect than THT and THT is a very low % shooter right now. No place for him on the current roster

THT's age does not matter for the Lakers, they need to compete now. Beverly is a far more efficient scorer, better defender, and fills a need to facilitate and offense that THT can't. Move is an absolute short term win for the Lakers. Long term does not matter to them.

It makes the Lakers better because Pat Bev fits with Lebron far better than Westbrook. Pat Bev plays defense, Westbrook doesn't. Pat Bev can hit the 3, Westbrook can't. Pat Bev doesn't need the ball in his hands a lot to be effective, Westbrook does.

It doesn't make them contenders, but it does make them better.

Get the Hield/Turner trade done...then they can be looked at as contenders if they stay healthy.

Hield gives us the shooter and while Oubre is RW-like shooting wise he could be a scorer off the bench we could use. And we save one of the 1st rounders.

Start the countdown for Kyrie to say he isn’t wearing a uniform that reminds people of the American flag.

Underrated comment

IMO, THT was never going to realize any potential he may have with Lebron in LA. He is not a great fit with Lebron on the floor. IMO, for impact upon this season, Stanley Johnson would've been as valuable for LA as THT. Bev basically moves Johnson's defense to guard, where it is needed more. Bev's 3 pt shooting was down with the Wolves last year, but was approx 40% during his time with the Clips and Rockets. Floor spacing, ball handling, and defense all great fits with Lebron. Bev doesn't have the athleticism of THT, but otherwise he's the better fit now of the three.

As you noted, the additional flexibility next season could be huge too. That might give the Lakers some pause with the Pacers deal, which has Hield due $19M in 23/24 and an extension for Turner assumed ultimately if acquired. That potential cap savings for next season could be gone in a flash.

Trying to get someone like Oubre out of the Hornts and making this a 3 team deal is certainly something that you could do as well.

not sure what Charlotte would want from Indy though.

I'm not sold on Oubre with better shooting options potentially available.

1-He made 34.5% last season and may see better looks with James and AD than he did in Charlotte. Career 33% shooter. So he's better than RW and off the bench he could give them a 13ppg scorer. We don't have a replacement for Melo's scoring off the bench. Oubre could be it.

2-If one of the kids play well they could flip him around the deadline since he is on an expiring contract and his contract is only partially guaranteed.
