But, you have to give the Nets something to motivate them to do a intrastate trade.

Maybe but 3mpg in 13 games is not a great sample size...

No, but they evaluated him in plenty of other places.

Teams get these drops wrong a decent amount, but let’s not act like the decision to move on is based on what he did on an NBA court.

Brown is a very good player. Good enough to be a number 2 on a title team IMO. But not a number 1.

Celtics came close this year, but a pretty high chance this is the high water mark for the current core.

They do need to wait it out and let the price come down a bit, but a deal of Brown, White + multiple picks and salary if needed makes a lot of sense.

3 reasons:

1: you ensure none of your conference rivals land KD (including Brooklyn)

2: You eliminate the chance of Brown walking for nothing in 2 years

3: not sure about Tatum as a #1 on a title team, but he could be the best number 2 in the league. And that makes Boston very dangerous.

Yeah, but I think KD gives you a chance to still be elite even if Al falls off.

After the white trade they were the best team in the league in +\- splits

But you saw all the dumb unforced errors they made in every round

Shams Charania of The Athletic and Stadium reported the Celtics offered Brown, Derrick White and an undisclosed draft pick for Durant. The Nets countered by asking for Brown, Marcus Smart, draft picks and another rotation player

Smart can't be the deciding factor in not getting KD....just can't be

Imagine 5-10 years from now, Celtics still with no title since 08 and let smart be the deciding factor in getting KD or not

The Celtics trade Brown, Smart and Grant Williams and their defense will go from 1 of the best ones to average at best. Not to mention all the picks and swaps.

Imagine if you will.....Boston trades those 3 players and picks......KD plays in 50 games or so (averaged 45 a season with the Nets) next season and the Celtics are a play-in team.
