Sure, but weaknesses will get exposed and taken advantage of by smart teams/coaches. Guys like AD, Zubac, Valunciunas etc have gone unmentioned, but they could take advantage as well. The same way teams repeatedly go after soft defenders to get them benched in crunch time.
I agree but this is stuff that happens most regularly with playoff ball. Chet has some time before OKC is a playoff team to add some weight.

Cousins hit the nail on the head with this comment @thunderc

It is what I been saying all along

Obviously, he has to get stronger just for longevity. But talking about him getting bullied and stuff — they don’t even post up anymore… Outside of Jokic, Embiid and maybe Karl-Anthony Towns, guys really don’t post up. I don’t think that’s a concern for me
You can’t work on length and athleticism. You can work on hitting the gym

Yep the playoffs is where it matters and that could hurt him. I mean in 3-4 seasons he COULD transform his body. Like you said, he has time with the young squad

And he’s only 19 right? He still has 2-3 prime years where hard work goes a long way to changing his body (to an extent).

Yeah, I wouldn't worry about a few individual matchups that might not favor Holmgren.
It's what he does over the course of the season.

Now, my biggest concern would be how his frame holds up over 82 games going up against some of the bigs and backup bruisers that try to push him around. It's the day to day grind. Does he fade in the 2nd half?

On Chet...like KD, Ingram and others with really skinny frames who come into the league, he will get pushed around a bit as even guys like AD who typically prefer the perimeter, will try to take advantage of the weight/strength difference for relatively easy baskets and to draw fouls.

Also like KD, Ingram, etc. he looks like his skill will keep him in games until he can add some weight and strength. He is probably never going to be ''ripped'', but like guys before him, he can add enough weight and strength that other players won't be able to push him around near as much and folks will stop talking about how skinny he is.

Thunder probably have him on an all steak diet as we speak. lol

And he'll still have that skill set. If he stays healthy...Dude is likely gonna be a problem.

Holmgren is the highest ceiling lowest floor prospect of the top 5 imo.

In a limited look it looks like the Magic made the right call on Banchero over Smith.

Murray Is solid as I expected. Probably highest floor of the 5.

Ivey looks the part but we will see how he does against NBA defenders where he isn't clearly the fastest guy on the floor by a huge margin. I love his upside but I'd also can see his playstyle leading to him being the most likely injured of the top 5.

Tayshaun Prince was another rail-thin NBAer I thought wasn't going to have much of a career because I thought he'd just get pushed around.

Wrong. He had a long career, 17 years and a ring.

I mean...he was also a 3 but the league was a touch more physical then also.

2002-03 was his rookie year. Didn't realize he ended up playing that long. Played in more than 1,000 games.

The Thunder are basically building a position less team. Chet fits more as a 3 than he does a 5. Dort is going to guard the other teams best player regardless of what position they play. Thunder are going to bring the length everywhere.

That would be great provided he can keep up with wings laterally. I appreciate Dort draws the harder assignments

Sure, and for a #23 pick his production is appropriate. When it's a #2 pick, the expectations are ratcheted up quite a bit. Having a Tayshaun-like career would be a miss for Chet.

Ingram is still listed as only 180 lbs. Some of these guys will never put on that weight, will just need to adjust to the contact and force of the pro game (whatever of it remains).

These are all extremely early evaluations too. Vegas league production should be taken with a grain of salt really. Many of the guys they're competing against will not even make g-league rosters, while others were 1st round picks and already have NBA experience. It's a massive crap shoot, lol.

It's wild to me...as a guy with a thin frame growing up...at 6 1 I'm 190 pounds and still reasonably thin. And dudes 6 8 plus weigh the same. I get they have like 5 percent body fat but still. Super thin. They need beer in their life.

I don't disagree all. But my comparison wasn't about where each player was drafted. Just that Prince was also rail-thin.

Yeah 11 pts. & 4 rebs. for a career for a # 2 pick wouldn't be good at all.
