I guess KD is fine with Irving being the reason he never wins again.
Who knows about any of these rumors. You can find one to support any inkling you may have lol. Nets aren't trading Durant, Nets are still trying to trade Durant, Durant wants to play with Kyrie, Durant doesn't want to play with Kyrie, etc etc.

Truthfully, where is KD's best chance to win that isn't riding coattails again?

He should ride it out in Brooklyn just this one year, with Kyrie and Simmons and the other pieces. Kyrie will be playing for another contract, and no more vaccine issues. Then when Kyrie leaves Brooklyn can try to bring in another #2 to play with KD.

Is there a bigger pair of unknowns to rely upon than Kyrie and Simmons though? Durant's years are slipping away...

lol

Didn't I say yesterday that the narrative aound all of that will change again before it's over?

Kyrie to the Lakers should start heating up again.
If the Lakers had offered a pick or both the picks.....it would have been a done deal.

No one has everything ideal laid out for them. Like you said, where else could he go?

He wanted to play with Kyrie, now's his chance. Simmons should be a nice #3. Risk in everything no matter where you are, that would be his smart play. If it doesn't work then force the trade. Brooklyn is simply not going to trade him for what the market is offering.

If KD really wanted to play with Irving.....wouldn't he have told the Nets to sign Irving long term?

Organizations listen to their star players.

If he told them that after what Irving did to the team the Nets likely would have brought in the psychiatrist.

Not always.

Especially if they don’t like the direction the stars are steering the ship.

And last year was very clearly untenable for Brooklyn brass.

Now, if Kyrie can redeem himself this year? Maybe Brooklyn resigns him.

But it is abundantly clear at this point that KD wants to play with Kyrie.

He could have told them sign him long term or trade me.....he just said trade me so maybe our thinking of KD wanting to play with him is overblown. Maybe he wants out. And if they trade Irving, maybe he rescinds it and says he'll stay.

That won't be that easy.

KD and Simmons would combine to take up 90 mill in cap space.

They already do, just saying KD should see what this one more year is like without the vaccine drama and Kyrie playing for his next deal. Nets should be contenders with what they have now. Next year KD can see what he wants to do when Kyrie leaves.

Dude.

The narrative is clear. You keep saying this and you are wrong.

Kyrie isn’t wanted by Brooklyn. He opted in without communicating with the team and within hours the Nets put out a statement about how Kyrie would have to make changes to his approach to remain in Brooklyn.

It was immediately after the Nets made that anti-Kyrie statement and were clearly shopping Kyrie that KD made his trade request.

Even more, the speculation is that KD made that request in order to HELP Kyrie leverage a longer team deal with Brooklyn.

Because everyone knows the Nets can’t get fair compensation for KD and will be reluctant to trade him.

KD has also put out multiple comments publicly supporting Kyrie.

There is zero logical reason to believe KD doesn’t want to play with Kyrie anymore.

"Then when Kyrie leaves Brooklyn can try to bring in another #2 to play with KD."

And I was addressing it won't be that easy to just bring in a #2 guy. There's something called a salary cap and they'd have KD and Simmons under contract with team options on Sharpe and Thomas.

You are correct. They won’t be able to just sign another top free agent.

Which is why KD wants out if his BFF isn’t still there.

The only way Brooklyn can contend this season is with their dysfunctional trio leading the charge.
