Injuries killed his career.

The gun thing didn’t help.

He was never the same afterwards.

Also though, he is the type of player who posted monster stat lines but was pretty inefficient. His game would not be valued nearly as much today.

Dallas can't offer the type of package Brooklyn would want but Luka and Doncic would be interesting.

He played a few seasons after that and ended his career in China. He was just 31.

Yes, I know.

He played with relentless swagger when he was at his best. He didn’t have that after the gun incident. Even before the injuries. He wasn’t the same.

He became a collector/hoarder. Waiting to see how OKC deals with their immense stock pile (and Houston with their chunk of the Nets')

Eventually you need to deal multiple picks (which okc did with NY). You can only have so many players on the roster lol

The only deal that, in hindsight, Ainge should done was for Kawhi Leonard. And even then, there were major character concerns circling Kawhi based on his last year in SA... so there's at least some defense of that balk.

I haven't heard of another good trade idea that he failed to engage.

The picks that became nes and Romeo in particular were worth a lot more before the seasons they occurred started

They misused on jrue holiday (although It might’ve cost them al)

They also dumped a top 10 pick on a short run with kyrie which hurt the direction of the franchise

The 2016 draft in particular killed thrm. Brown is ok although I believe metrics wise he hasn’t been worthy of a typical 3 pick yet.

But the rest was a dumpster fire. Especially when guys they needed were on the board and fell further than expected and he took foreign flops instead

He also just flat out could’ve traded up a few times to get a guy he wanted

But, he wasn't kicked out of the League like the other person suggested.

Yes it's the latter point that made no sense to me.

Trade up and get an impact guy. The only one that they drafted late first that became that they traded (Bane)

I didn’t see that.

Bridges won’t be kicked out either.

But if he does jail time, his career might be over.

Well he only mentioned PHX and MIA specifically. I’m sure he would be fine with a couple more teams…maybe
Doesn't matter where he wants to go. He's signed for four more years and the Nets will do what's best for them. If the Pacers offer the best players remaining and seven first and second round picks between 2023 and 2030 and the Heat offer two firsts, think the Nets give a crap what KD 'wants'?

The latest rumor from Boston is Jalen Brown, Derrick White and Robert Williams and their next four first rounders. Celtics have seven open spots on their roster and this deal would make that nine. And they'd be about $70M over the Luxury Tax line.

Are we not counting RWIII? (a late 1st round Ainge pick).

Ainge also drafted Grant Williams and Payton Pritchard late in the 1st... two decent picks that have contributed.

KD can say, "I ain't going to Indiana."

Just stop. They'll consult with KD for sure.

Kyrie wants a trade. He's looking to get back together with LeBron.

Think the Nets will take on Westbrook's $47.5M contract to give the Lakers a break?

The Nets probably would want a few pick swaps also. Gobert commanded 4 1st rounders.
