Anyone want to take a guess at who the Rangers pick at #3?

The MLB draft is this weekend!? Here's everything you need to know

Is there a most intriguing player to watch?

High school outfielder Elijah Green from IMG Academy in Florida was once viewed as the potential overall No. 1 pick and he still should go somewhere in the top 10. The son of former NFL Pro Bowl tight end Eric Green, he's 6-foot-3, 225 pounds with plus power and explosive speed -- a potential 30-30 type. There are concerns about his swing-and-miss, but he has as much upside -- perhaps the most upside -- of any player in the draft.

No organization loves "potential upside" more than the Rangers
That was true a few years back. That has changed over the last 3 or 4 years. At least with the first pick. Let's hope we never choose a Donald Harris over a Frank Thomas again, simply based on upside.

Drafting is the subject though. They don't even have the same strategy in the first round as they have in the 5th round, much less in a mid season trade.

I like Kevin Parada and Termarr Johnson.

Druw Jones would be awesome but he won’t get to us.
Green has too much swing and miss for high school.

I like Brooks Lee, but IMO Parada was facing better pitching and had a higher batting avg and more home runs.

I like Jackson Holliday but Termarr Johnson has an exit Velo of 97 mph where as Holiday is at 89 mph.

I have enjoyed following the pre-draft coverage. The mocks and the articles have been very informative. It looks like all the talk is over at this point.

I do know there will be three guys whose career I follow just from what I learned about them. Those guys are Chase DeLauter, Ivan Melendez, and Termarr Johnson. I think all three will have good MLB careers.

I expect the Rangers to get Holliday, but I still would like to see them take Termarr Johnson.

It is the 4th and 5th round picks that I am concerned about. This team makes some strange decisions sometimes.

I think realistically the options are gonna be a choice from everyone but Dru Jones and Termarr Johnson. I go with Parada, Holliday or Lee in that order but we all know, its a toss up and anyone's best guess, on who it will actually be
