Ah, damn it!! We played great tonight but not good enough.
This game felt a lot more like a win than a loss. Yes, we spotted another team a two goal lead, but I thought we won the 2nd and 3rd periods, plus even the early OT. Our bottom six forwards really came to play. Actually, our 4th line alone had a combined 6 points and +6 rating. That's pretty ridiculous. Major props to Sedlak, Allison, Deslauriers, MacEwen, Tippett and Cates for really getting the job done and then some.

Obviously the 1st period was a bit of a mess, but we just keep on churning. We're going to set a record for multiple goal deficits overcome in a season at this pace. J. Staal scored about 5 and a half minutes in at the side of the net. It was a very weak goal against for Hart, but perhaps he'll learn from it. About 10 minutes later Martinook takes a pass at the edge of the faceoff circle while not tightly checked enough and pumps it home. Hart had virtually no chance on that one.

Amazingly, we had two goals during only two minutes of the 2nd period by Deslauriers (who was left wide open in the slot) and Tippett on the power play to even it up. I thought we should've even taken the lead that period, but Raanta held the fort for them.

Only 6 minutes into the 3rd, we grabbed the lead on a great backhand pass by Sedlak to Allison who got it high enough to chip it home in tight. This was a near 2 on 1 as Stastny had Allison, but apparently not well enough. This game was about over and then with two minutes left Necas strolled into the zone with the puck, we waved a couple of sticks at him as he got to a scoring area and sniped it home to break our collective hearts.

I thought we did well for the beginning of the OT and then their speed and skill took over a bit before eventually old man Brent Burns sniped a laser to the top corner with under a minute remaining. No chance for Hart, unfortunately.

This should've truly been a regulation win, so consider it the first heartbreaking loss of the season for us. The effort was there, we just didn't get the result that we probably deserved.

I watched three games on tape from yesterday and you can imagine which ones they were. All of my teams lost...Lol The Phillies are surely still in good shape though. The Flyers should've won and I'm still fucking done with Sean Clifford. He giveth and he taketh away. That dude is bottom line not good enough on the big stage. He turns the ball over too much, is wildly inconsistent and then he ends up trying to do too much and gets hurt. I'm not questioning his toughness or compete level, but he just doesn't have enough skill/talent to get it done against the best.

Btw, Penn State should've won too and then they give up four touchdowns in only six minutes of the 4th quarter. Embarrassing finish and Clifford is largely responsible for that. I thought OSU's receivers were running wide open for too much of the game as well. Makes it pretty fucking easy for Stroud to gash us.

Somehow we still have possession of the division lead via an unknown tiebreaker, but there are 6 teams in our division with 10 or 11 points. It doesn't get any closer than that...Lol

I swear in just one months time, Sean Couturier's injury status went from no surgery required (week to week), to skating, to day to day, then week to week, then not skating at all, then surgery and out 3 to 4 more months. We could possibly be absolutely fucked without him for so long...

I can't find an article about it anywhere, but I swear they said last night in-game that he had another back surgery and is out 2-4 months time.

Btw, what is Atkinson's injury!? A concussion? We could sure use another goal scorer in our top 6.

Thought Hayes and Risto were awful the whole game. The rest played well - Hard to criticize Hart. Dude stands on his head , it’s inevitable some get by him.

Idk about Hayes, he's obviously been great on the season, just not last night necessarily. 10 points in 8 games. He's on pace to break his career record for points in an entire season by the halfway point. I hope Risto is just rusty as fuck due to having just returned from injury, but he looks way too slow out there to be effective.

There was an Article on Yahoo Sports about Couturier's back surgery. Talk about keeping things under rap. This WFC's fingerprints all over it!

Here ya go Maverick. And as I had suspected, WFC is mentioned in this article. Sonofabitch is hiding player's injuries I'll bet.

Weird - what they’re describing sounds a hell of a lot like my back. Even how Coots describes some of his symptoms earlier. I have a nerve that gets pinched and enflamed. I can go from fine to can barely walk in a matter of days without any real warning. I’ve received injections and that fixes me up. Obviously I am no athlete and come nowhere near what they put their bodies through. Just weird.

This shit drives me insane. These guys have got to be dealing with some of the best doctors in the world. First off, he misses most of last season. He has the first surgery in February and then questions were raised in July when he was feeling pain!? So wtf has been happening since July!? It's been 3 FULL months since the end of July. We've just been hoping that nothing is fucked up and everything starts going smoothly instead? Now he's going to miss most of a SECOND season in a row.

HE SHOULD'VE BEEN READY FOR THE FUCKING OPENER!!

THIS ENTIRE DEAL IS FUCKED!! LOL

Edit: Btw, don't read that fucking article unless you have a bucket near you for the tears or a punching bag to unleash your frustrations....Lol

Yes it is Maverick and I suspect WTFC has something to do with the entire mess!

If I were Chuck Fletcher, I would've had the best doctor I could find thoroughly check him out in July (and as often as possible) so that we're on schedule and nothing gets fucked. Instead, this has turned into a massive clusterfuck.

Honestly, I think we could be attempting to unofficially tank the season by holding a bunch of our key players on LTIR and IR for unnecessarily long. It's obviously not going well yet because we're playing hard and winning, but I don't think anyone suspects that we can sustain this for months on end and truly compete for the division title. It's a hellish division and we are short so much skill/talent and for far too long.

I'm as loyal as anyone to the team. I love the culture change and I absolutely want to win, but if we're starting out like this only to quietly tank, this is some fucking bullshit.

I could not have stated it better myself, Maverick! WTFC is a little snake and he has been doing some crazy-ass shit for awhile now but it is slowly being exposed. Should be interesting to see how this plays-out.

Hart does stand on his head every night but if he would just stop letting in the soft goals i would be much happier.

Wouldn’t coots and Atkinson have to be in on the CON ? These are not stupid people. I guess they could have the attitude, I’m getting paid, so I’ll go along.
