It's early but if this dude can stay healthy, he is having and could easily have a career year.

I told ya the team isn't perfect and has some major injuries but they have a HART! Sometimes that's all that you need. Have to give credit to Torts as well he has them playing his system and it's def helping.

I remember some fans were ticked that the Flyers missed Bellows funny but they got him for free now. Hopefully he wakes up and helps this team.

Yep, I was one that wanted him haha. Good waiver claim, super low risk and maybe he finds a spark with a change of scenery. Moves like this have to be made given their current cap state and prospect pool. A rare move from Fletcher that I'm 100% on board with.

Same here I wasnt happy when they traded down. No risk and he can step right into the PP and take JVRs spot.

First place baby!!!!!:rockon::rockon::rockon::rockon::hammer::hammer::hammer:
Hopefully we're still this happy come Jan- Feb. Carter Hart is having a great season so far is by far the difference maker. I want to see how this team stacks up to teams such as the Bruins and the Rags. Also how well will they be when they run into teams such as the Avs, Oilers and Calgary. IMO those are the true tests.

Kinda thought last years President cup winner was a good test.

The East is dominating the West right now. Thought I heard north of 70% wins against. First 7 games in the books, next 10 are a freakin’ gauntlet.

If Hart could get rid of that 1 or 2 soft goals a game he may win us the cup. However he is playing great even with those goals.

This was our test. We just stacked up against the presidents winning trophy team from last season and split the two games and we spanked Stanley cup runner up TB so the Bruins and Rags aren't any better than those two teams.

The Avs and Oilers and Calgary well have to wait and see as they are really fast but maybe we slow them down with Deslauriers ,McEwen , Risto and Seeler

Holy cow every game is going to be a tough one. Just keep playing like a team that's hard to play against and we will get back to the middle of the road by seasons end.

The process of changing the culture to a winning one where the team plays as a whole and they hustle and fight to the end buzzer is what Torts has done. This is primarily a case of what Torts wants. Fletcher does not do much on his own even though he gets the credit for picking-up players that are cast-off.

Fletcher has already proven he doesn't have a clue but the case is more like he takes suggestions and advice from Tortorella as to what player (when they are available) to sign as what happened with Bellows. The spin is Fletcher made the move but in reality, it is Tortorella who tells Fletcher when a player becomes available to, "sign him".

Since Tortorella does not have GM responsibilities, Fletcher does the actual transaction and thus gets the credit.

I am pretty sure part of the "sudden" exposure of "injuries" is an effective and league-permitted method to remove the old mentality retained by some players and to insert a given coach's type players or fresh-start guys who are sure to buy-in to what a Tortorella is selling which is hard-nosed tough Hockey for 60 minutes.

It's a covert method of accomplishing Torts goals and results without trying to convince naysayers, hard-liners, and lazy-ass, reluctant players who liked the old country-club ways. Some people like the status quo especially if they get to do what they want and still make gobs of money. Just asked anybody who works for the Federal Government.

So, if somebody suddenly has an injury that nobody can identify but is removed because of the phantom ailment, you can bet that he is being removed (sometimes temporarily and sometimes permanently) because they no longer are buying-in to what Tortorella has/is selling from the getgo.

In pro basketball, this method is now known as John Walling a given player.

It's early on, but I have to say this is the biggest game of the season until we really start playing division rivals on the regular (late next month). Carolina lost yesterday, but whoever wins this battle will walk away with the outright division lead and a lot of confidence moving forward too. I see we're still getting zero respect as they are favored on our home ice and we should also be the fresher team.

That respect thing may not change this year, Maverick. But I say eff them all. If everybody wants to take that stance, I say fine. Tortorella has got this team on a new course and the Flyers just may skate past your asses and move onward. We will see who respects whom if this continues in the direction nobody predicted a month ago.

I am with you though on the notion things may shift when the Flyers are sitting atop the Metro Division looking down at all those disbelieving peeps!

This article on the Bellows signing has alot of excitement woven in and a lot of spin and bullshit included. I'll let you dudes come to your own conclusions as to what is authentic and what is fertilizer.

Tortellini focused a lot on conditioning at camp, so in theory the Flyers came out of the gate in better condition than the league. Could explain a couple of the comeback wins. At some point, that head start in conditioning levels out. I would have to believe that leveling out happens by the second week of the season. So, from here on out, it’s the churn of the season and any advantage flyers had due to the better conditioning will be gone.

Go Flyers

Laughton and Hayes are big tonight. Deslauriers is also active on both ends of the Ice and Bellows is playing looking good in Tortorella's schemes. Good pick-up.
