I am very happy with our selection of Cutter (great name) Gauthier. I know he was drafted as a wing but if he could learn to play center that is a huge need for us going forward. He said one year at BC and hes ready to make the jump and hopefully he is good enough to be on the big club in year two. He is" legendary" for his work ethic in the gym and according to the experts Torts will love his hockey work ethic. Please god let him be our Makar.

Anyone still with the theory that we had to pick Patrick at number two because all the scouts had him either 1 or 2 on the charts see Shane Wright.

So if everyone here is good with the pick last night, and we are still not competitive going forward, what's the sense in holding on to Hart? At this point if our future is so far down the road why aren't we making some kind of blockbuster deal for him? Do you honestly think this kid wants to wait around for a team to get better ( with no guarantees they do?) I would be pressing a team like Edmonton for all I could get. It's great to have a decent player in the future but what do you do in the mean time? Watch other good players come and go while your waiting? This team is being so mismanaged it isn't funny anymore. If this team isn't competitive now with the players we have then we should be or should have been making all sorts of moves last night!

Not many teams are busting down our door to trade for Hart.

Farabee is going to miss at least the early first part of the season as he had surgery on cervical discs in his back. Torts is promising a hard camp.

That is a good step in the right direction as he will clean-up the laziness and elitism this club has as a cancer. Time to grow-up gents.

Farabee is always hurt another draw back of drafting very small players.

The elitism was traded to Florida at the deadline. :D

That's because he hasn't been put out there for a potential trade. I'd be willing to bet you'd have plenty of suitors if you said he was available. You don't think a young talented team like Edmonton wouldn't want him? With a solid team in front of him he is as elite as anyone in the league right now.

Our Ruskie Goalie the Flyers seemed to have discovered has been sent to a Military base and is being held for Military Service. So we will probably will not be seeing that dude anytime soon.

Yep, this more ineptitude on the part of our management team, rumor is Fletcher knew this was brewing when he signed him. Fletcher is an idiot and should be replaced immediately!

WTF Chuck is def fulfilling that description, Crispy, and maybe the Comcast douchebags and Scott will see that and move Briere into the GM role sooner rather than later.

2nd 3rd and 4th rounders going to Carolina for DeAngelo.

That's not a bad deal. Just wanted it not to be for next years 1st and they didn't do that.

Guess we're back to the Holmgren days of being allergic to 2nd rounders

Also has to mean they're thinking Ellis is toast. Can't imagine they plan on going Ellis, Ristolainen, DeAngelo on the right side. Especially since they'd probably all make 5M +.

If they really wanted Hart they would make an offer regardless if we made him available.

Did I just hear Deangelo to Philly? Sounds like reality. He's a good player just attitude issues. Worry about that later!

If you are rebuilding you trade the old guys not good young pieces especially goalies who can play a long time at a high level. By getting Deangelo they are retooling not rebuilding whether that's a correct decision is up to debate.

Totally agree lasgop. I am attributing these and more changes to Torts' influence. I am quite sure when he got started on preps for the draft, he took a look around and succinctly stated: "Uh, this, this roster is not going to work." Done.
