Yea I would have gave him 3 years at best. He doesn't have 6 good seasons left in him. He is on the decline and he has def slowed down a ton.

But what is typical Hextall insanity, he goes and gives Letang a big-ass 6-year deal that I doubt he'll finish for what exactly? Because Hextall does not want to ever be perceived as the bad guy, he does this shit. Trying to be a player's buddy all the time.

Wait until Torts gets his hands on actually managing what we have now. I fully anticipate changes will occur and in the first year, there will be alot of grumbling, poor-play and laziness, and eventual jettison of crappy-ass players to change things or the Flyers will remain as they are or they will fire Torts before his contract is completed.

Only thing I can think of why they'd do this is their thinking Francouz may get a starting gig somewhere, which I think he deserves.

I hope Torts finds a way to be firm but kind with our team being so young. These days these young guns get their feelings hurt and they dont produce. I think he will be gone after the third year of his 4 year contract.

I'm good with that too, Francouz has proven he can play in high level situations. With Giorgiev as a backup it's solid.

Then I would have a chat with Hart and if he is not on board, I'd move him to acquire assets (salary dumps and trade for players who would be) to start fresh with Keumper as my goalie. That is what Torts used to do, but yea, I get it that those sorts of things probably won't be happening anytime soon-not with comcast looking over everyone's shoulder.

You are right Crispy. I was using the scenario I posted to illustrate what must be done with this shithole of a franchise to get it back to prominence and probably got ahead of myself a bit. Good comeback post as usual!

Yea there's way bigger holes to fill than Goalie, Hart IMO has shown he can get it done, we just need a way better product in front of him. Gotta get rid of JVR, Hayes and a couple others. Hopefully we have a diamond in the ruff in one of our young Dmen. Torts will def bring in the blue collar guys.

Not a fan of this - I don’t think Hart is the worst of our problems.

I’ve said it before - watch TK, he’s a clear pest on the ice ; and I could easily make the jump that he is an issue if not handled the right way.
