How fucking lucky can NJ get!? In just the last SIX draft years (including this one), they've drafted #1 overall TWICE, #2 overall, #4 overall and #7 overall.

It's like watching the fucking Pens of the early 2000's all over again. WTF!?! This might as well be Whitney, Fleury, Crosby, Malkin and Staal all the fuck over again, except with another rival of ours...

If we wanted any kind of balance in the lottery, they shouldn't have even been eligible to move up in this one. It's fucking absurd. And of course it's all at our expense. We should've at least had #4, but instead drop to #5.
It's a disgrace and the nhl is doing it on purpose

Really hate the idea of dealing #5 for DeBrincat like is out there today.

But. If they trade for DeBrincat and then sign Gaudreau? Then maybe I’ll start to hope. Need to move a bunch of money to do it though.
So add brink to the top line with these two, and what do we give them as nickname ?

The “nano line” ?

It is difficult to understand the Flyers penchant for finding small players and expecting them to player bigger opponents with any sort of success!

Not sure if anyone has brought this up but what happens if the Flyers are unable to obtain their Russian goalie onto a roster, even though he was signed? Do they get any type of compensation since the Russian Govt won't release him? How does this work?

Sounds like the Flyers balked at including #5 in the compensation for DeBrincat. I think that's a positive sign that they're not throwing everything including the kitchen sink at trying to be competitive next year.

I think his contract would just slide. Or it would be voided and they'd keep his NHL rights for a little bit maybe? I don't think they'd get any kind of draft pick compensation or anything though. It'd be a similar situation as a pick that they never signed in the first the place, I think.

They could have Prov and Frost and a the 4th round pick next year we got from Edmonton.

Giving up the 5 pick would be ridiculous.

Indeed. To get back to prominence, the Flyers braintrust is going to have to do a combination of things to right this sinking rathole. Clearing or moving overpaid salaries on players that are a joke is one of them.
Hextall and now Fletcher have put us in such a hole its going to take years to get the train back on the tracks.

Awaz already mentioned that the Flyers are considering a trade with the Blackhawks for DeBrincat but they are balking at including the 5th pick in the First Round as part of the deal. WTF Chuck better be careful because his present level of temptation can be ratcheted-up and before ya know, he is giving away draft capital for a quick fix. That is something he vowed he would not do and then... ...poof, gone.

This would be so dumb as Debrincat could leave as a free agent in 2 years.

Lord please let Fletcher understand that there are no quick fixes here.:hope:

We will just have to trust the process and draft as many good players as we can and pray the arent Nolan Patrick.

DeBrincat wont look as good without Toews and Kane. We healthy, Couts can bring it, but we don't even have a Kane light on the team. DeBrincat had 35 % points on the PP (28 of 78). He would improve the PP from really stinks to stinks.

I agree ! Debrincat would be like polishing the brass on the Titanic and the he would abandon our ship once it sinks in two years.

Still hearing the same 3 names at #5. David Jiricek, Cutter Gauthier and Matthew Savoie. This will be the year where nobody goes rogue in the first 4 picks. Logan Cooley or Nemec would be great options if either falls.
I will take anyone that can produce for our team within two years. Our team needs a jolt of young good talent ASAP. I dont want to hear the word potential anymore i want results please.
