A big center on the rise should have Flyers' attention at No. 5
With the fifth overall pick in the 2022 NHL draft, the Flyers should have interest in rising center Cutter Gauthier. By Jordan Hallwww.nbcsports.com
The three names that keep coming up are Jiricek (everyone has Nemec at 4), Gauthier and Savoie. I also see where Gauthier is expected to play center at Boston College next year.Similarly to the Torts hiring, I'll be pretty surprised if they pass on Gauthier if he's still available. He just screams Flyers/Fletcher pick to me. American. Has size. Fits the 'home run swing' type of pick.
I'd prefer Nemec or Jiricek if they're there, but I won't be mad if they pick Gauthier.
I dont care who it is i just want the player selected to be an impact player for us starting in 2024-25 season or earlier if possible.Similarly to the Torts hiring, I'll be pretty surprised if they pass on Gauthier if he's still available. Martin Necas please and no goalies please.
Package our #5 pick and JVR for someone's 2nd rounder. Nothing is telling me anyone is going to be an impact payer from this draft.I dont care who it is i just want the player selected to be an impact player for us starting in 2024-25 season or earlier if possible.
How many martinis have you had for lunch?Package our #5 pick and JVR for someone's 2nd rounder. Nothing is telling me anyone is going to be an impact payer from this draft.
Nick Paul would fit right into our new defense first system but 3-4 million for him is too much for me to want to sign him for that.3 Depth Players the Flyers Should Target in Free Agency - The Hockey Writers Philadelphia Flyers Latest News, Analysis & More

I’d be ok with any of these
We have enough guys who only score 10 goals a season.Nick Paul would fit right into our new defense first system but 3-4 million for him is too much for me to want to sign him for that.
Problem is you never know until it happens. Half these pro whatever they claim to be, writers/ scouts don't know shit? The ride the leg of whoever is hot but never seem to look at a young players whole body of work.Package our #5 pick and JVR for someone's 2nd rounder. I would definitely sign him if he was in the $1.35 million range like he is on TB but hes on track to make a lot more so id pass on him. He is a Torts kind of player though. We have enough guys who only score 10 goals a season.
I would rather see them go after Josh Manson. Big physical RHD. We could def afford him if we hadn't given Ristolainen all that wasted money. There's some decent FAs but we keep handicapping ourselves with shitty long term contracts to average players. This IMO is what is killing us the most.I would definitely sign him if he was in the $1.35 million range like he is on TB but hes on track to make a lot more so id pass on him. This is why either Prov or Sanhein need to be traded so we dont have so much money tied up on the back end.I would rather see them go after Josh Manson. Big physical RHD.
