If it were me, I wouldn't sign anyone in free agency. The Flyers have enough overpaid bottom of the lineup guys. Shuffling some of them out to sign other overpaid bottom of the lineup guys doesn't help.

Let some of the crappy deals they have expire and save the future cap space to pay actual impact guys down the road. The last thing they need is another 3-5M guy signed for 5+ years. Don't handcuff the '23, '24, '25 teams for 6 more points in '22.

Next year's draft is supposed to be loaded. Just deal with sucking next year and take advantage of the timing.
Even if it is loaded we dont have a second rounder in next years draft either (thanks Risto) so we will get only 1 of the top 60 players in next years draft.

With (3) 3rds and (2) 4ths, we should be able to move up in the second. Florida's 1 from 2024 could also come into play.

ESPN 2023 power rankings has Flyers at #28. Caesar’s has Flyers at 125 - 1 to win the cup.

Looking at every angle to get rid of JVR this year. Arizona is currently $12 mill under the cap floor with 6 roster spots open. JVR has a cap hit of $7 mill but his salary for this year is $4 mill. That has to be enticing to them. Open the space and try to sign a Palat, Copp or even Kane (I am getting desperate) type player who wont break the bank. We need goals.

Indeed. To get back to prominence, the Flyers braintrust is going to have to do a combination of things to right this sinking rathole. Clearing or moving overpaid salaries on players that are a joke is one of them.

Oh damn - we lost Yeo to Vancouver.

Essentially traded him for Shaw apparently. Love the idea of a “power kill” to discuss a super aggressive PK. Music to my ears. If that’s all Shaw does I’m good with it.

Really hate the idea of dealing #5 for DeBrincat like is out there today.

But. If they trade for DeBrincat and then sign Gaudreau? Then maybe I’ll start to hope. Need to move a bunch of money to do it though.

Here is a list of some players that we could potentially sign to help. We would have to move some cash to get say maybe two on this list. I'd start with Stanley Cup and Avs goalie Kuemper.

Weird shit going on with yet another Flyers player. How did the Flyers find this dude and why did they sign him?
