Idk, I'd like to at least see Konecny stick around to put up 90+ points next season before we ship him away. Before anyone scoffs at that, he was on pace for 85 points this season if he had played in 82 games.

He would be a tough player to lose, but that would also be the definition of selling high.

Ya, I don’t think that’s necessary either. Like the Hawks trading guys like Dach last season is just over the top. I don’t see why you’d trade guys like York, Tippett, or Cates. I’d rather not move Hart at this point too I think. But I would pretty much be looking to move Hayes and Provorov. Listening on Sanheim. Probably listening in Laughton, but I think they keep him and give him the C. And I think you move Konecny. Outside of Hart, he’s the other guy you can get a kings ransom for. And I don’t think his age fits the timeline. Sucks, because I really like TK, have since before they drafted him. But that’s the ‘hard decision’ I think they have to make. If you draft/develop well you could turn a TK return in to 2, maybe even 3, top of the lineup guys.
For me, moving Konecny is something you think long and hard about. He only just turned 26 two days ago. It's not like he will be retired when the "rebuild" is complete and we're theoretically contending for Cups. I would at least try to get a feel for what he's looking for with his next deal. Yeah, if he wants anywhere near $10 million per season, forget about it...Lol

We are 29th in the league for goals scored per game and 21st for goals against. TK is one of the few guys that can score. Unless the return is a top pick for this years draft, then he should stay.

Yeah, that's part of it. Konecny had a career high of 27 goals in only 52 games this season (and with zero help). Tippett is next on the entire squad with only 18 in 61 games. You have Couturier and Atkinson coming back, but losing Konecny could destroy an already bad offense.

I think the return would be that and more though. Konecny should be a hot commodity. Just turned 26 and has two more years left at $5.5 million. Like I mentioned, he could easily be a 90 point guy next season and on any team. Watch it happen.

I think it's safe to say that Chuck Fletcher was the worst GM in Flyers history and I don't even think it's close. Hextall at least stocked the cupboard w picks. Clarke did some good things, but always overpaid and loved using NTC on contracts, much like Homer did. Fletcher did nothing right, furthermore, he's set this franchise back for years imo. Briere is coming into a disaster. Like Mav said above, we don't have any 2nd ro in nders for 2 frigging years. We have barely enough picks to build anything decent, let alone in cap hell.
Hextall by far and away worse GM than Fletcher. None of the "picks" Hextall got, none of them panned out and he left us with a organization full of players that nobody wanted hence Fletcher couldnt do anything but throw hail Mary's to try to make us better and most of that didnt pan out either. either.

I also think you have to use the money that's freed up from JVR to package a solid DMan or a legit offensive guy to help put up some numbers. Next year shed more older contracts for younger/ more talented players. Some of this youth could grow pretty quickly under Torts, I feel he and Breire will be more in sync.
We have to throw most of the JVR money into signing our RFAs Cates Frost and York.

Also if they really are going to focus on developing players, Lappy needs to get fired asap.
Everyone in management should go minor leagues and NHL. It was time to rebuild 3-4 years ago and now look at where we are.

The funny part (not really funny) is these stats are an improvement over last season.

So when all is said and done, who is a FA you'd like to see the team go after? At some point we're going to need a stud to help get where we need to go.

For me, nobody. I don’t think it makes sense to add a pricey free agent for a few years. Draft, develop, and burn off some years of the overpaid guys. That and sell older players that can bring back value.

Looking at next years FA group, I agree to wait at least a year before committing more long term deals.

I saw a few stories that said we may trade Hart. What can we get for him?

We dont have the cap room to add any free agents even mid priced ones.

I dont think we could afford it but Pasta would be a nice player to sign.

If this is true, it's the biggest assist of his career.
And corporate ownership bullshit that I have tailed against forever.

Not wearing a gay pride shirt gets the GM fired where extraordinary incompetence didn’t. That is woke corporate bs on full display.

For the record, I'm watching the Rangers game at 7pm on Disney to see this animation thing.
