Good. Torts can be shown the door to for all I care.
Torts has done an excellent job developing our you players as well as getting the most out of our veterans. I dont know why you would want Torts out at this point.

Would Hayes want to go there (he can veto 12 teams with his MTC) and if he does, what is his trade value?
Im not sure if they are one of his veto teams but if they are pretty dumb to write that article without that disclaimer. I think with 50 points in 62 games his value wont be any higher than it is right now and should be traded this summer if possible.

What do you think someone would give for him? Is a second round pick this year about right?

I would take a second round pick for him in a minute. That gives us a pick that we need and gets his contract off of our books. I think its ambitious of me to think a 2nd rounder could be had for him. In order to get that we may have to eat some salary but eating salary for 3 years is not what i would like to do. Maybe we ask for a 2nd rounder and move back to a 3rd so we could do a straight up trade.

*Disclaimer to all I am not a GM in the NHL so my suggestions are just that ....suggestions.

And you guys didn't think Fletcher had a plan. :dhd:

Bemidji St eh? The new Matt Read! I see that he's a dman, but if he's can put together the defensive equivalent to Matt Read that'll be a good signing.

I still would like to see what Torts can do with an actual team of Nhl players. We've been without Couturier (Selke winner and our best player), Atkinson (40 goal scorer) and Ellis (safe to say our best defenseman) literally the ENTIRE season. Konecny stepped up and had a career season in their absence, but even he is probably going to miss 30 games due to injury. Outside of Carter Hart, those four players would be pretty much the CORE of this franchise when at 100% health.

Torts has had a squad made up of about 35-50% Ahl players for the entire season. Some of them really impressed and may stick in the Nhl. Cates, Tippett and York certainly come to mind. Frost and Allison, maybe? Others will probably be shipped out of here and replaced. So, that'll leave an opportunity for other youngsters next season like Brink, Foerster, Attard and Ersson etc. to show what they're made of.

Our record of 24-28-11 really is pretty fucking good when you take all of this shit into consideration. We've beaten a lot of teams with much more talent based off just outplaying them and wanting it more. It would've gotten us into the playoffs had we been a healthier team, I am pretty certain of that.

Watching Chuck Fletcher navigate the trade deadline is like watching a dog try to solve a rubik's cube.

I would love to know why Torts put Tippett on the top PK last night. This idiotic move cost us at least 2 maybe 3 PP goals against. I love Tippett and he has made great strides this year but he is no PK player and should never be on the top pair.

Im fine with tanking but please dont put Tippett out there to block the rapid fire shots from the point where he could get hurt. He is not a very savy defensive player and hopefully he can continue his solid offensive output this season without getting hurt on the PK.

We'll never know if DeAngelo actually speared Perry in the groin. Why? Perry is one of the biggest dicks in the league and one way or another, I'm sure he took a dive to make it look way worse than it actually was.

Aside from special teams, that was a close game that we could've won. It's frustrating when we grind all game long to score two goals, but then take a penalty and then Tampa can send out $40 million worth of talent that scores within 30 seconds. Then, they find their confidence and do it twice more and the game is over.

7. Ah, Philadelphia. About 25 years ago, I went to a Packers-Lions game in Detroit. The Silverdome (where Detroit played then) was full of Green Bay fans as Brett Favre dismantled the Lions. A year later, I tried to buy tickets for the Vikings' visit to Motown, but the Lions were so angry about the Packers’ fans takeover they created a rule where you had to buy tickets for at least four games. No more invasions! I thought of that last Wednesday as a legion of Rangers supporters erupted in Wells Fargo when Vladimir Tarasenko scored to beat the hometown Flyers in overtime.

I get it. No one wants to see thousands of fans celebrating a hated rival’s win in your building. It tastes like your grandmother’s worst liver dish. It’s not coming fast enough for Flyers’ fans, but there’s going to be change. The moment John Tortorella’s name appeared on that “this year was the first step in building the future of the Flyers” letter in February, it signaled where everything was going. The as-yet-undetermined part is how deep this rebuild will go, but there’s a chance it will be more significant than expected. One governor said this week that, early in the season, comp tickets for Philadelphia games were up 50 per cent over 2021-22. Nothing delivers a message louder than that.
