We have extra picks in rounds 3 and 4 of the upcoming draft, but the glaringly obvious issue is that we only have one pick in the first two rounds. I'm going to assume that Fletcher is trying to acquire picks in the 1st or 2nd round for his assets or consolidate to get them. If he has yet to receive any offers that net him something like this, that's probably why he has yet to pull the trigger. I imagine he's betting that someone will get desperate late and maybe we get a 1st or 2nd round pick in the '23 draft out of it. Either way, if he were to somehow not trade JvR and Braun, that would be a massive fuck up. If he has a decent offer for Hayes, he should probably just take it as well. However, Kevin does have a modifed no-trade clause, which could screw that up pretty easily. He would basically have to agree to leave town and his contract could be an issue too. They'll likely want us to eat a third of his salary and that's kind of a lot (if it includes the next 3 seasons).

I definitely wish I could be a fly on the wall for some of these trade negotiations between GM's.

Stars acquiring Domi. Buyers continue to thin out.

At this point I’m expecting JvR for like a 4th or just straight up for Greenway. And a 6th for Braun. And even though I’m expecting, I’m still going to be livid when it happens.
Chuck must have a clause in his contract that if he gets terminated for cause he gets something like $1,000,000,000. There is no other explanation for waiting until everyone has traded 1st, 2nd and 3rd round picks already.

Can you imagine if CF stands pat with this current roster? I mean what will it take to fire this guy? I miss the old days when Snider had full control of this organization. He did whatever it took to put a good product on t he ice. Now it's all run by a large corporation, which seems to care less about going through the proper channel to build a contender. They hired a GM who really has done poorly on decision making and what's best for the organization. More importantly, it's the fans who suffer through this mess. Bottom line here, until Comcast and CF recognize the real issue and address it to the fan base, this will continue for years. I wish Jeffry Lurie ( Eagles owner) would be interested. He's made the Eagles franchise a contender for year in and out.

We overrate our players on this board all the time.
Look at it this way, with very little cap room Chuck could find another stud deal like the Delaurius one, maybe lock Braun up for a couple more years with a no trade Claus.

Whetherever overrated or not, there is no excuse that JVR and Braun have not been traded already. The team may pay guys like they are front line players, but JVR is still a good option as a third line wing on a team making a playoff run. This is a case of Chuck trying to bluff when everyone knew he had shit cards.

Yup. This exactly. Similar players to JvR and Braun have been moved already. Heck, worse players than them have been moved. And the word out there that Hayes and Provorov are 'too complicated' for a deadline move I'm just not buying either. If teams can figure out Chychrun and Ekholm deals that have term left on them, Fletcher should be able to figure out Hayes/Provorov moves. There's been every type of move imaginable in the last week or two. Straight up player for player, pure rental deals, tons of retention, player for prospect, 3rd party brokered deals, teams acquiring 1st round picks and turning them around in to buy trades.

Fletcher is just sitting quietly on the sidelines while almost every single one of his counterparts makes moves to better their franchise. Get him the hell out of here.

I want JvR, Braun, and Seeler gone. And at least one of Hayes/Provorov. Let's get this rebuild in motion already.

The Kraken didn't even want JVR for free so trying to get something for him is a bit harder than we think. Still time to trade Braun for a 6th rounder id assume hell be gone.

That was an expansion draft where JVR had two years left on an inflated contract. This is an expiring contract where 50% could be retained by the Flyers for a playoff run. Huge difference.

JvR better go for at least a 2nd if we retain salary and Braun can go for a 3rd again. There's no reason why this shouldn't happen.

Word on twitter is they're "looking for a 3rd" for JvR.

Then I'm surprised that nobody has offered a 3rd this entire week...

There was some talk about Minnesota earlier in the week. But it seems Chuck overplayed his hand there and by the time Minnesota got Johanssen and Nyquist instead, half the buyers had already done their work.

MacEwen to the Kings for Brendan Lemieux and a 5th in '24.

Looks like a lateral move. Similar players, but we get the extra late pick.

Blockbuster trade right here folks!
We may be Cup favorites next year after our trade deadlines move(s). Chuck should be promoted to Emperior of the Flyers!
