I watched the Boston vs Oilers game last night and man that was some great hockey to watch. Skill level at 10 plus great defense, great goal tending, hitting and speed galore. Just a pleasure to watch those 2 teams play.

It just seems that our 3-8-3 record and just playing a dump and watch game again coincided with McEwen's injury.

We were playing excellent hockey prior to his injury and now we are stuck with a team that looks very similar to last season. Playing with no heart, a lot of standing around in our zone, lack of team toughness, no cycle down low and getting beat bad in all three zones.

Reading some quotes from Fletcher’s press conference and it actually sounds like he’s finally acknowledging that. A lot of talk about ‘getting younger’ and finding picks and young prospects that can be difference makers. Still resisted calling it a rebuild because he’s apparently a toddler, but basically said that’s what they were doing. Just not going to tear it down to the studs, which is his definition of a rebuild I guess. Mentioned Tippet, Frost, Farabee, and Gauthier by name in the ‘we’re not looking to trade everyone’ portion.

We aren't very good player wise but lately we haven't been very good hustle wise which just coincided with McEwen going down with an injury.

There is no way around it we need to rebuild and should've done so at least 2 years ago. Just because he wont say it doesn't make it true. He needs to just admit it and move on.

Just want to make it known that me and Bacon have been on the record here calling for this rebuild since 2019 so this is not news to us just a couple years late.

That was probably (technically) true back when we were 53 games in with 53 points. That's obviously an 82 point pace, which is 21 points higher than last season.

The tank is on now though. We're not playing defense at the level we were for much of the season and just about all of our elite talent is out injured.

It just depends on the offers we get. Buy low, sell high. I'd really rather not have a team full of 19 year olds. I don't think you want that unless they are all top 5 picks, which just isn't possible.
