I just love Ersson and his calm demeanor between the pipes. How do we turn him into a first round pick in 2024?

Wow, that might have been our worst period of the entire season. Outshot 12-1 and gave up a shorthanded goal. Down 0-2 and have just zero life. Seattle is absolutely all over us. I don't know what else to even say.

Yeah, that was truly embarrassing in Seattle last night. The only positive we can take away is that Konecny finally found his scoring touch again with two goals in garbage time. That's just enormous for the remainder of the season.

Amazingly, we won 61% of the faceoffs in this game. I say that because it looked like the Kraken had the puck for 90% of the game...Lol They completely dominated us in all phases and it should've really even been worse than the 2-6 score.

I am disgusted with our effort last night . No jump,, no hitting, no forechecking, no defensive zone play and really bad in net.

We got dominated in all three zones. We really lost a spark when McEwen got hurt and brought up Bellows.

The saving grace is that Washington lost too. We still have a 0.2% chance to make the playoffs.:dhd:

From the Athletic: Its a good question i say sell high.

Philadelphia hasn’t been the only team impressed by Seeler, as he’s popping up in conversations all around the league. That’s what happens when a defenseman with a $775,000 cap hit both this season and next is standing out both via the eye test and the numbers — and is on a club openly in sell mode.

So will the Flyers hold onto him through the deadline? And more importantly, should they hold onto him?

Kid could bring back a good return, unfortunately I think we'll be sitting here scratching our heads as to how he fucked things up like he did with Giroux and the Ristolinan deals.

Absolutely sell high. 29 yr old journeyman defensemen. If there's any sort of bidding war over him, sell him to the highest bidder. He's providing good value on a cheap contract and teams pay a premium for that. Seeler at 775k next year doesn't move the needle for the Flyers. He's a carer 6/7 dman, if someone wants to give you a mid-round pick for him, thank them and be on your way.

The Giroux trade wasn't fucked up by Fletcher it was fucked up by Giroux and his no trade clause and that POS would only waive it to go to Florida. BTW we got back a a player who most likely will be scoring 25-30 annually. If anything this was an excellent job by Fletcher.

Risto now that's a different story he screwed that one up twice .

I said sell high because i think we may be able to get a 3rd rounder for him in a bidding war. I wouldn't sell for a 5th or 6th rounder as i think he is better than any 5th or 6th rounder we could draft.

Well so far he's been pretty decent, if he can keep it up for a few years and is relatively cheap, then yeah it will pan out. Yet to be seen. Fingers crossed.

He might be better than a 5th or 6th rounder that we could draft. But that doesn't really matter, I don't think. He's signed for this year and next, and would probably walk in free agency after that (if not there's a bunch of guys just like him). The Flyers won't be a "good value 3rd pair dman" away from contending next year. So might as well take the 1% shot at getting a good player late in the draft IMO. Zamula, Attard, or Andrae can skate those minutes. The team probably isn't going anywhere anyway while Seeler would be under contract.

Wouldn't tell other teams that obviously haha. Hopefully they bid and the Flyers do get a 3rd or 4th for him.

I think Torts likes him so if he doesn't go for a 3rd or 4th he can stay and we could shop him next deadline. As far as the other 3 young dmen they will be taking the minutes of Prov/Sanheim and DeAngelo who should both be gone either this season or over the summer. Attard is the only one of the three built for a 3rd pair guy and he may be year away from sticking with the big club.

I think having next year at 775k is what really adds to his value right now. Cap strapped teams want that cost certainty for next year. I think if they wait until next deadline his value will drop. Even if he does maintain his level of play, which I don't think is a guarantee given his career to this point. Strike while the iron is hot!

+2 with 10 points and will fight anyone. Seeler is definitely a heart and soul type of player for us. Despite their lack of offensive talent, I would take a whole bottom half of our team full of guys like Seeler, Laughton, Cates and MacEwen. We obviously just need more offensive punch in the top two lines and top two defensive pairings.

Our lack of offensive punch was blatantly exposed by the Kraken. WE simply were left found wanting with little results. The Flyers continue to need players who are far more talented and generate offensive power on a number of levels. We just are not there yet even with Torts getting every ounce of effort out of the players he does have.

The unknown though is how much offensive firepower Couturier and Atkinson will add, plus how much more dangerous will some of our youngsters be offensively next season? There's certainly a lot of potential growth there with guys like Farabee, Frost, Tippett, Allison, Cates and York.

Then, any extra offense potentially gets amplified by having a much-improved power play too.

For now though, it's enormous to have Konecny back on track. He's easily our top offensive weapon. When he's slumping, it's like we're a below average to average team, but when he's going strong, we can win a lot of games.

Spot on Maverick. A year's experience for our youngsters under Torts' tutelage will be and is huge for us. We just need more players who are talented and will be schooled in the Torts' way to get us to the next level. The poor Power Play we have is a good place to start and then our D needs to be upgraded. We are close. Just not where everyone of us wants the Flyers to be.

We have a three-game losing streak going into tonight's game against the Canucks that needs to cease like yesterday. Hopefully the Flyers will come out of this one with the W.
