It is why the fit with the Lakers was so horrendous.

He didn’t fit as a starter with LeBron.

And he was terrible closing games.

Which puts his optimal role between 15-20 minutes which was never going to fly.

Because Kawhi and PG are less ball dominant, I think maybe the Clippers can start Russ, still use him as a second unit anchor by staggering minutes and have him off the floor in crunch time while still getting 25-30 minutes out of him.

Not saying it will work, but it has a much better chance than it did with the Lakers.
I actually agree but doubt @Mecca buys this....Lol.

Starting is overrated to me. Maybe they want PG to go back to his natural position and not handle the ball as much which isn't the case with Mann starting

When PG needy, any port in a storm I guess. Again, lots of 3 pt shooting to surround him with and a big to throw lobs to.....if he plays smart and within a role, could work.

I’d say the best word for the Sixers is “thirsty”. They absolutely need to make a run with this group because the cliff is not only on the radar, it’s quickly approaching. This may be last chance for Glenn Rivers, James Harden and even Joel Embiid in a Sixers uniform. If it doesn’t work out soon, then the Process is clearly and unequivocally a failure.

I don’t think the process was the failure

It was the next step to actually follow up on the asset accumulation

And don’t forget even the misses mostly we’re turned into hits (mcw traded for a future first, fultz traded for maxey etc)

Okafor was the big miss

Sports success and failure is about outcome. The Process was designed to avoid what they’re living right now…being almost good enough and going home in the 2nd round. They’ve been able to assert themselves as being in the top 8 in the league but haven’t been able to improve upon that. That’s exactly who they were Pre process when they had Drue Holiday Andre Iguodala and Elton Brand. They blew up basketball in Philly for 4-5 years all to end up in the same spot…if this doesn’t result in a run.

Love this quote, lol...

The Portland Trail Blazers emerge from the All-Star break with the 12th-best record in the Western Conference, fresh off a trade deadline that saw the front office puff out its chest, flex its arms, convey a commitment to upgrading the roster and then, ultimately, let out a long, emphatic, wet-sounding fart.

Unfortunately, the three 1sts after Embiid all tanked (Okafor, Simmons, Fultz). At least they got off of Simmons before he had zero value. Trading the pick that became Mikal Bridges hurt too (hell, you can trace that pick back to the Lakers, given up in the trade to get Nash's decrepit ass). Maxey was a great later pick. They could really be elite right now, but nobody hits on all their picks.

You were an 8 seed when they broke that up.

Probably should’ve just traded away eveyone but jrue but I get it

Trading Thad for a first that could’ve been dejonte Murray is the final killer

Although maybe you don’t take maxey then

I had Murray going 10th to the bucks that year

I don’t know if they take a flyer on Murray when they have Ben Simmons already from that draft. They drafted Timothe Luwawu Cabarot and Furkan Korkmaz with Pascal Siakam still on the board. I think Siakam was the more sensible take there than Murray.
