And that's usually the best players.

And even if a guy like Austin Reeves or Bol Bol slips through the cracks, what does it matter?

A lot

There are likely incentives in people contracts on making all star team. A guy like that get in then a deserving player miss out

Bc they don’t deserve it. The point is to put the best players on the court for the fans to be entertained. Most fans do not want to see Austin Reeves in the ASG

Does a star player who acts like a jackass deserve a spot more than a fan favorite?

I mean, I love The Bald Mamba and am probably his biggest fan on this forum, but I want whatever the Bulls FO is smoking.
You probably have it right?

That doesn’t mean they should choose. They would just pick their favorite players

That's the point.

It's the fans game and that is how the NBA has always sold it.

It's never been about "the best players", it's about who the fans want to see.

That's why we have seen things like old ass broken down Kobe getting voted in or Magic voted in when he was technically retired.

Things like All-NBA, etc. are about the best players. The All Star game isn't.

I really don't get why some folks can't grasp that.

Players have shown that they don't take it seriously.

The media holds grudges.

No matter who does the voting, addicts like us on this board will bitch about it. Well, I won't...but most of the rest of you will.

Fan vote is the only type of voting that even makes sense for any All Star game.
