Didn't know that. And that's worse than Ham IMO. He the HC but Handy is one of the most respected assistant coaches in the League.

Not sure why he hasn't got a job yet......if Ham fails.....I bet Handy takes over for the Lakers.

I didn't either. Read it this morning.

The problem wasn't that he goes full on all the time, the problem was that he's not a smart player and refused to work on anything. As he's gotten older he's just become a worse, less athletic version of the same guy he's always been.

Just in the 20 games that AD was out, they lost 4 games that were directly attributable to his mistakes.
Here's the thing.....if he pulls a Melo.....works on that 3 and gets a little better at it.

Say he hits 36-37% he could become a lot more valuable.....off the bench.

They mucked everything up by moving Kyrie too early. If they were going to move Durant ultimately for 3 wings, the pcs for Kyrie should've been different (or more picks and expirings than controlled players?). Those two trades don't fit under one plan really. They were flying by the seat of their pants and kinda crapped them in the process, then didn't do anything yesterday to clean up the mess.

Agreed

It felt like two trades that had no cohesive plan

Now they have like 7 wings all who would need PT to be happy

Smartass dick.

Expect that from a Celtics, Heat, Cavs, even some Clipper fan but not my Lakers brethren.
Maybe some self analysis then? Lol. I suggest you use at least some of that time for some cardio. Actually I just want the Thunder represented on that list.

Still shocked they got through all those deals and still have that 2029 pick after dealing with Ainge. Maybe waiting out Ainge until deadline week was a factor, or the other offers for those players were underwhelming?

The protections on the 2027 are unique (to me anyway), top 4 protected that reverts to a same-year 2nd if not conveying.
They will probably be in the top 4 bad that season.....so we're losing it.

Anybody care to wager the Lakers will make the playoffs? Not the play-in, but the actual playoffs.....

You betting they won't clearly. I am saying yes.
Nah. I’ll just take a step back and delight in the current goals of fans of NBA royalty.

Checks notes <flexing on a prediction of a top 6 finish in a down down conference>

If they both requested a trade at the same time.....Windy was saying the Nets probably would have taken the Lakers offer.....those picks are really valuable and would set them up in the long term.

3 former Sixers. I want the Sixers to prioritize Nerlens to be the back up 5 and then it’s on to Danny Green. Sixers have an open roster spot now but could cut someone to add Green if need be.

They should've done that yesterday lol.

This front office gets an D from me on this

Moving kyrie was a decent start but you have an incredibly imbalanced roster

What's your direction here
I think they were trying to but a lot of teams in the WC were focusing on OG in Toronto.

Unless, you heard Marks was fine standing pat with all those wings.

He has never been relegated to the bench or benched in crunch time his entire career either. As confident as he is, he also hears all the criticism in the press and from fans. It has to boil over at some point.
True.

Being on the bench had to really irritate him. He better get used to it because I don't see a lot of teams bringing him in to start.

IMO (since people want links on here to opinions, LOL) Green to the Suns.

They need to fill out that bench, they are really thin.

They moved the picks and returned some talent.

I will give him credit for that.

Think they could have done better (specifically Turner and Hield), but they got better at the deadline with the kind of deal it looked like they were unwilling to make.
They got 4 new players in Russell, Beasley, Vanderbilt, and Bamba for just 1 of those precious picks, RW, JTA and Jones.

While I love Hield and Turner......it would have required both.

I'm good since Russ and Beasley can both shoot the deep ball, Vanderbilt is a young athletic talent and Bamba is a solid backup big who can also shoot from range, defend and rebound. We are deeper and didn't give up much.

Hell, for the Lakers it's addition by subtraction.

DLo makes 39% of his treys.

Beasley 36%.

Bamba makes 40% this season (career 36% from deep).

Hell, Vandy even makes 33%.

Could be. Danny has rings already though and may look for minutes and fit over prioritizing riding for a ring. That might mean the Sixers are out too. I think he may be a good take for the Heat. Could be good for all parties.

Really looking forward to the buyout market now.....just in general because I doubt the Lakers get anybody.
