were they going to have significant cap room to sign someone? if so-I can buy that argument. I am just surprised they would with Gobert and Towns deal and Edwards (has Edwards gotten the mini-max yet?- i feel its been long enough were he would have).
Edwards making 13 next year, Russell off the books and cutting some non guarantees contract wouldnhave left near 20. Now the best is 7 if they cut connely, or none.

I think Towns is your flexibility. I think both parties are ready to move on. Towns is some nice trade bait to hand things over to Ant, a Gobert centered defense and role players around it - Towns likely brings back a dude who can be a solid Robin to Ant’s Batman.
If they crush the Towns trade this could be less terrible. Edwards is a poor fit with Gobert though, I am not sure a great fix is coming before Edwards wants out.

Vanderbilt and Beasley would likely not even be in the Cavs rotation- let alone be significant pieces---- maybe back end guys.

Good move for the Lakers since it takes guys out of the rotation for them that are really not reliable NBA players.
LMAO.

Doc losing his shit on Harrell’s defense is going to be the only positive take away from this embarrassing effort. Bury that man on the bench forever. This is now a 5 year old story since Greg Monroe. How hard is it to find a back up big for 8-10 playoff minutes that’s just not garbage?

Offensively Gobert fits with no one. You have to play with 4 on offense for him to anchor your defense.

WTF does this have to do with the Cavs?

Flip KAT and let Edwards continue to develop.

Protection on that 2027 pick is top 4 or it becomes a 2027 2nd. Interesting...

Yeah I can see that. Might take a 3 way deal. If you’re blowing it up why build around Towns? He’s best on a team like Atlanta around Trae and Murray. Trae and Towns pick and roll pick and pop would be tough.

Beasley when on is awesome. He will try and shoot out of a cold streak though. I would not look to flip Vanderbilt, his value way exceeds his contract
I doubt it too.....just saying it's an option.

Russell would be the most likely signed and traded.
