Sound to me the Nets just wanted to send Kyrie to a place where (they were hoping) Kyrie wouldn't thrive.

From what i've heard, the Suns also made a better offer than the Mavs

Yeah but if they're going to be trading away/waiving the pieces they got in return from the Mavs, like @Mecca posted, what is the point?

I'm sure they can still get great value in CP3 for starters.

But as fucked up as the Lakers front office is at the moment, there shouldn't be any blame on their end.

From what i've heard (and this is all through the media though so not 100%), the Lakers offered two 1sts, pick swaps, Westbrook and ONE young guy on the team.

Sure, it's not great. But it's pretty much the best they have.

Nets made a counter offer that was so ridiculous the Lakers didn't even bother contacting the Nets again
