They can cut him after this year for only 15 million. Or they can keep him for 23-24 at 30 million and then get out of the deal in 24-25 free and clear with no cap and no more guaranteed money left.

I read a story not sure if it was true or not, that after the year the Cavs won the Championship he was mad about something and didn't participate or talk to anyone on the team for the entire season. So even in his "sane" years he was still kinda crazy.

Pretty sure that's true, but I think it may have been with the Celtics.

Not necessarily. I agree with @tlance it shows they're trying.

If it blows up, it blows up. But they took a big swing.

It may not keep him from leaving, but it gives him more to think about if he considers leaving.
