You do realize that Thibs can’t make the free throws for them, right?

That is not on the coach.
No , he sure doesn’t …

BUT, as coach he is responsible for makin sure these guys practice a simple freekin fundamental part of the game!!!

A got dang free throw!

They call it FREE throw . Should never COST you the game

Welp a bad shooting team is 15/25 from 3. Just have to tip your hat to them and move on. Wow
Holy shit haha. They were NBA worst 32% from 3 this season. Some nights are just not your nights.

Except that it does all the time at every level of basketball.

You assume they don’t practice enough, but you have no idea how much they practice.

Game free throws with game pressure can’t really be duplicated totally.

Even the best FT shooters miss sometimes.

Usually I would be pissed at Harden having 17 shots but Maxey is still out and his 3-11 from 2 (yuck!) looks bad on paper but it’s almost all on pick and roll action that led to Embiid knocking down 44 so you take the good with the bad. With as often as Harden goes to the line I want to see him register only about 11-12 shots a game when Maxey comes back. Tobias Harris has to be congratulated for adding the catch and shoot willingness to his game. Tonight just 2-6 but last season if he wasn’t making them he doesn’t shoot 6. He kept shooting. One of the best 3 pt shooters percentage wise in December has him at 42% for the season. He’s really grown on me. I respect a guy his age still adding to his game and making himself fit with what they need. He hasn’t shot 5 threes per game since he was a primary shooter and taking 16-17 a game. Now his 5 threes a night is coming on 13 shots total.

The girls are doing karaoke now. They’re drunk and they suck but they’ll get tired and pass out soon and I can watch the second half.

I don’t assume anything…

The Knicks are a sub par team

The are fightin for their playoff lives nite in and nite out

Stressing Fundamentals are what get you over the top when you are sub par

Yes, game on the line even the best miss one here and there..

But, the Knicks are missing too many at all points of the game which is totally unacceptable and absolutely on the head coach.

What the heck in your eyes is the head coach responsible for?

Coach puts players in position to succeed.

But the player has to execute.

Missed shots, especially free throws are on the player. Can’t blame the coach for that.

Brunson was shooting 89% from the line before tonight. I guarantee he practices free throws plenty.

Free throws are legs and muscle memory. Fatigue is a factor late in ball games. Now add pressure of the moment. Pasta shoots 46% from the line in the same scenario (if we get crazy and project him playing 33-35 minutes of NBA level run).

Late game I would say nerves and psychology are just as much a factor.

Some guys thrive under the pressure of those shots, some fold.

Also, you miss the first, you are more likely to miss the second. Even great FT shooters.

Curry missed a bunch in the playoffs last year. Then he will go weeks without missing 1.

I believe you said you coach high school level …

This is the bigs bro

These guys are missing free throws all game long not just with seconds on the clock

The coach is 100% responsible for this!

No he ain’t shootin them and no he ain’t sittin watchin them do it in practice either . He is relying on them!!! Do you not understand this????

They are not getting it done. the players fail the coach fails . It’s just the way it is. It makes everyone look bad.

Y’all said it ‘coaches are hired to be fired… you don’t want to give mgmt a reason!

Normally , you miss first you make the second . You don’t miss both! Grimes and Brunson missed 4 with lead and little time left . Inexcusable
