I suppose but

1. would they? I don't think so
2. would it be enough? don't think so either

Yep.

We shall see what comes to pass.

I’ve said this before but with their 2 firsts a pick swaps and like 6 seconds, available

And they can clean them out because you get 6m every year in cash.

The lakers can use some or all of that to buy multiple seconds each draft to give them chances to find new contributors

And that’s why they can afford to. Because they find those guys like Christie and reaves

Turning Russ and picks into Conley plus is a good start

Nunn Jones Christie and a pick for like Josh Richardson

Might seem small but those can really move the needle since you’re turning half depth into playoff rotation minutes
Conley is a guy I think would fit really well with what we have. He's a saavy vet who can hit the outside shot. If they included Clarkson or Beasley.....that's another guy who can shoot and score.

Really like Reaves a lot.

I think it would have to include Beasley salary wise

Would be a nice combo with bev and reaves as well

Then you can focus on adding a wing like Richardson or oubre

Hield and Turner is really what Rob needs to be looking into again.....that gives us the gunner in Hield and Turner who we really need right now without AD. When AD comes back Turner is a plus.

He always did

See that series vs Orlando that they worked so hard to make the Cavs win
Meh using an outlier does not prove anything. Lebron would get hacked in the paint for years without calls, especially his Heat and 2nd stint Cavs days.
Orlando had a clear strategy, which worked, hack Lebron and make him win the series. Orlando didn’t get many FT’s (Dwight still with 11/game shooting half as many shots as LBJ) bc they were hoisting up 60 3’s a game

Market still means a lot.

How else do you explain the Lakers in 2020?

Totally incompetent management and yet they won a title.

But obviously a market like Washington isn’t winning with incompetent management. They haven’t had strong ownership in 40 years.

Cleveland is well managed. And I still don’t think they are winning.

Neither do you.

Orlando signed mcgrady and hill in one offseason and were allegedly seconds from Duncan

They did land rashard Lewis when he was one of the top FAs out there

I have no idea why they’re not a destination anymore

Taxes can matter. Carlos Lee explicitly signed with the Astros years ago because of the lack of state income taxes

Orlando? Probably the incessant losing?

it is easier to find guys when you have a ton of minutes to give them to see if they are worth anything because your roster depth sucks.

I doubt that's even still on the table. However, Ross and Bamba from Orlando could be had potentially? Or a package from Utah or the Spurs?

...or you have a front office that doesn't make horrid selections with their early first rounders.

Cali's top state tax bracket is insane- isnt it almost 14-15%?

even if you cut that in half- saving 7% is nothing to sneeze at.

Sure, but you get to live in California instead of Texas, Florida, or Ohio. The taxes stay high because they're worth it.
