Those posted numbers? Only if you're looking at ppg. Of course, we all know the other side of the coin (defense), lol.

In most of those cases it's not even close.

Not even a litlte bit.

Just in PER where he just edges out Embiid.

Their recent play has just been building towards a quick exit. Maybe not in the play-in, but it certainly seems to be looming.

To me their play looks a little too inconsistent.

I never expected them to win against the Clippers, especially after a back to back.

But those games against Utah should have been blow-outs.

They also need to figure out their free throws and limit turnovers.

And for fuck sake, give the ball to AD in the paint more often. Neither Minnesota or potentially Memphis has anyone to stop him.

I mean, not really. Most Lakers fans on this board are more critical of them than other fans. If they lose tonight I am going to rip them a new one on this forum.

Some exceptions of course....
We are realist.

Hopeful.

But, not homerific to the point of losing credibility.

I don’t think you can beat the Suns.

But, if AD plays like a Clydesdale, instead of my little pony, the other top seeds would get snuffed.

Depends on whose voting.

It just proves narrative > reality

Jokic lapped the field this year

But because he won 2 in a row people aren’t gonna vote for him

The fact that many think he got screwed out of at least one of those 2 is certainly a factor as well. Sorry, Jokic doesn’t belong in 3 in a row territory.

I’m not using that as part of my narrative.

So, it isn’t a stretch for me to believe that some of the people voting simply believe Embiid deserves to win.

That's such a false narrative. What happened last year should have no impact on this year. If he deserves it this year, he should get it.

Besides, what "many" think doesn't matter if they aren't voters.

That said, it's pretty safe that he won't. That vote sampling seems pretty clear.

Suns and Clippers are the only two teams where I am almost 100% sure the Lakers have no chance of beating. Everyone else in the West is fair game IMO

That and whoever comes out of the East.

If by some absolute miracle they represent the West in the Finals, they will get absolutely SLAUGHTERED by the winner of the East.

3 in a row doesn’t matter

It’s a season award

If he can push the Nuggets to a final the narrative shifts. And everyone can please stop acting like his lack of playoff success relative to other multiple time winners isn't a factor.

Not for me.

I”m not a big analyctics Gal.

I keep it simple.

Embiid is the better scorer.

Embiid is the better defender.

Embiid’s team won more games.

I’m not anti-Jokic.

He’s a monster.

Joel is just a tad better, TO ME, this season.
