Never know what the Wizards are thinking. Their moves rarely make sense to me, at least on a big picture level.

What do they think is going to happen if they bring all those players back?

Better health, 5 more wins and a loss in the play in?

I just don’t see much more upside than that.
Exactly this.

They would be the Bulls.

Not using their picks to add another guy was also a choice

Maybe now with their pick? Idk.

Letting Kuzma walk is a year too late to tank for Vic

They’re stuck hard right now

I’m not sure how much Beal has left.

Wizards waited too long.

Right now I think any trade value he has is based on his name, not his recent play.
You might be right. Part of me wants to say that what we see now is a lot of “For Who For What” on a team that’s essentially rudderless with their plan. But there are serious questions about him being that killer that you want to take over games and be a steady bucket closing.

Yep. Dame Beal Butler, any player of that caliber will take Maxey, draft picks and Harris expiring contract. I would do it. I don’t want to sell the Embiid window short because I want to be a 5 or 6 seed with Maxey when Embiid is on the back end.

Sign me up for Maxey Harris plus picks for Beal.

Let’s get this done today!

I don’t think you need him to be a killer. Embiid is your killer.

Jimmy Butler would be the perfect 3rd star, but will he be available?

Don’t know.

I would love a Dame/Embiid pairing, but it is a lot less exciting with Harden. Think it would be diminishing returns with those 2 together.

I would prioritize Dame and Butler over Beal. Butler can defend and Dame is already a 4th Q closer. Questions for me as to whether Beal is that guy.

This kind of move would need to come with personal sacrifice from Embiid taking a step back offensively to commit more to defense. He can get you an efficient 24-26 on 14-15 shots with the way he gets to the line.

We could always give you back RoCo.

Clippers treat the man like spare parts.

I will never understand how he was getting dnp’s while Mook was playing damn near 30 min per game.

I think people still have Houston Harden in their mind. My biggest issue with Harden right now is that he defers a little too much right now instead of taking over in non Embiid minutes. The perfect Harden game now is 12-13 assists and 18-20 pts on only 10-12 shots with limited turnovers. He has already made the team centered sacrifice. They could still run Embiid Harden pick and roll pick and pop with Dame being secondary off of it while still also having the flexibility to run stuff with Dame. You can also clear out the floor and run a two man game Dame Embiid and punish the Embiid double.

I look at it differently.

Sixers have the talent in their building today.

The problem is that they don’t match up very well with the top 2 teams in the East.

Butler would be a game changer in that regard.

But giving Maxey in a package to get Dame or Beal?

Isn’t helping you guard Boston or Milwaukee.

Puts an awful lot of pressure on Embiid.

I am sure freeing up minutes for Springer is part of your equation, but I think the 6ers should prioritize adding 3 and D wings over another star if they can’t get Butler.

Exactly! He’s the type of add the team needs. The object of my desire though is Harrison Barnes. That guy is the prototype of what I want next to Embiid Harden Maxey. He can space the floor. He rebounds his position well. He doesn’t need a lot of shots but when the defense forgets about him, he can make them pay. He also gives them a solid defender. They can play a group of Harden Melton Barnes Tucker Embiid and despite Harden they would be a really strong defensive group to close with.

I agree. As I said earlier, it’s ideal to use the Harris contract for two two way guys that are expensive with a lot of years that teams would be looking at as a luxury they aren’t good enough to justify. Like, I’d help Chicago get out of that Ball deal if they can bring back Caruso in the deal sort of thing for Harris expiring deal.

Problem is, he is UFA this summer.

After the success of this year, they aren’t eating Tobias without juicy compensation.

Plus, a sign and trade would hardcap you.

But, yeah….

He would be a great get.

Ewwww.

I’m not eating Lonzo for Caruso.

He’s on the books for 20 mil next year and has a player option the year after that.

Are you getting Williams back too?

That's what I'd do. Move Harris for depth.

His max is likely more manageable. He hasn’t received any all nba love or those things that trigger to big extension.
