That seems really unlikely especially given that the Celtics play the Raptors the next 2 games. I think it is more important to give Harden some time to rest his hammy.
I don’t disagree. Celtics win 1 and it’s settled. With the play in tournament manufacturing some time for rest I still think you have to play before it’s mathematically impossible. That’s just me personally. The Sixers probably do what you’re saying. Rest is a fickle beast. It seems like every time Harden or Embiid rest their next game is a shaking off rust kind of game. Can’t afford one of those in a Game 1 home game in the playoffs.

Also…I’m done with Georges Niang. If he isn’t going 3-6 from 3 he has no value because he’s a traffic cone on defense. I want House to get his 10-14 playoff minutes now.

It will be really interesting to see who gets playoff minutes. Thankfully it would appear that Bball has locked up the backup center minutes.

I still think that if they get to round 2, Embiid is going to have to log some 40-42 minutes a night. Have him sit the first 3-4 of the 2nd and the 4th. In these minutes, they need to play Maxey Harden BBall Paul Tucker and Melton. They need to go small and play fast with Harden making plays for other downhill unless Maxey has a blow by type of matchup.

My bench gets real short in round 2.
Melton, McDaniel, BBall Paul and occasionally House. Starters have to log big minutes.

Also, should they see the Bucks, they need to play BBall Paul with Embiid for fouls on Giannis.

Pretty much agree. I do think the Minivan is going to get some minutes in the playoffs though. Hopefully none that matter.

They could use DeMarcus Cousins as a backup big.

Fucking scary. I want to like the guy and even when he’s not hitting his shot, you can argue that his reputation draws a defender away from the lane to give Embiid spacing to work but come playoff time, you need all your role pieces to be two way players. That seems to be the page that Morey is on now with what he’s done with his most recent acquisitions: Tucker, House, McDaniels are all 2 way guys. In the past, Sixers have been too dependent on specialists. Thybulle would give you defense but playing 4 on 5 at the other end. Ilyasova, Belinelli, JJ Redick, Seth Curry, Georges Niang…all guys who can knock down threes but players who get hunted with switches and then broken down for their man to score or penetrate and kick to an open shooter.

Nah, he doesn’t really fit with this group. The guy they should have traded for is Drummond from Chicago. Wish Bulls had bought him out.

Have you been following the development of Jaden Springer? Kid is already in a position to play high caliber defense at the NBA level. He could be a 3 and D guy for the Sixers bench next year. The problem is that Delaware seems to be using him as a combo guard which he just won’t be in the NBA. He’s playing too much with the ball in his hands because the Delaware staff is lazy and coaching to win games instead of knowing their role and coaching to develop a player. That being said, his 3 pt shooting is improving. It’s just that most of his shots aren’t catch and shoot opportunities which is what you want out of that guy.

This has to be the last year of Tobias Harris. Get this…dude is the highest paid Philadelphia athlete. In a city with Jalen Hurts (who will pass Tobi in a few months), Bryce Harper, and Joel Embiid, Tobi makes the most money. He is a square peg in a round hole with this team. I respect his attempt to change it up. His defense on Tatum in the 4Q was a big part of the win no one is talking about. But I need more than that from a max player. Hoping they can find a handful of overpaid depth guys they can get back for a team that will value a way to shed salaries in exchange for $38-39 million of expiring player. It’s probably best for Tobi that he gets a change of scenery for him to negotiate his last contract.

KAT or Gobert?
With what they’re building Gobert could be a nice fit. They don’t need him to score. They need interior defense. The problem is going to be that because the T Wolves overpaid they’re likely to be unrealistic in what they want back.

Even if they're unrealistic, the Thunder have picks to burn. Should have cap space to absorb some/all of the salary too.

Early to be hungry since I usually have just coffee for breakfast.....but all I had yesterday was a big salad for lunch after work and a few bowls of chicken noodle soup for dinner with Ritz crackers.

Need some real stick to my ribs food today.
