I get the Clippers not wanting to play the Lakers in the first round. I didn't want the Lakers playing them in the first round either.

But, they may have outsmarted themselves because if I were any of the top seeds, I'd want the Lakers in the first round.

Lebron and AD may still have a little rust on them, they will still be getting used to playing with Drummond and everyone will be adjusting to changes in the rotation and minutes. If they can stay healthy, the Lakers should have all of that figured out by the 2nd round and be hitting their stride.

It would suck to be eliminated in the 1st round, but it would also be the best opportunity to beat them.

I mean, if you're going to lose and you had titles hopes, what's the difference between losing in the conference finals or the 1st round?

It would be embarrassing and that's 2 rounds of playoff money they'd miss. So I understand that aspect.

But assuming that you're going to have to face them eventually, I'd rather do it when they're most vulnerable.

The offense runs through Green.....if he weren't on the Warriors.....Curry would average more.

:pound:

Dammit forgot to include this.

Jerry West only averaged fractionally more than Curry for his career at 6.69 apg.
Gary Payton only averaged 6.72 apg.

There's precedent for high scoring PG's to not producing a ton of assists.

Hey don't rain on my sarcastic parade. How dare you make sense like that? Stop it!

Can't remember the last time I had a fast food burger. Might be before the pandemic started. Once it did started and we all had to stay home, I started experimenting with different burger recipes, etc.

For me it was the opposite unfortunately. Easier to go through a drive thru than deal with the masses at the grocery store.

I've always avoided the masses at the grocery store because I go early in the morning or late at night when no one else is there. Wasn't much of a change for me. lol

In totally unsurprising news, Monty Williams was voted Coach of the Year.

He's deserving certainly but I really think that Thibs should have won it. The Suns were a team on the rise already and then got a Hall of Fame PG.

The Knicks were penciled in as a top 5 pick lottery team to start the season and wound up with the 4 seed. That was pretty amazing.

James Harden playoffs numbers SERIES BY SERIES since leaving OKC

2013 & 2014 1st round
26,7, & 4 on about 40% shooting in 2013. 2014 was very similar as he was at 27,6, & 5 on 39% shooting. Not great but doesn't fall under disappearing act.

2015
1st round- 28,8, & 4 on 44.5 % from the field
2nd round- 25, 8, & 6 on 41% shooting
Conference finals- 28,8, & 6 on 43% shooting. Did struggle in games 3 and 5.

2016
1st round- 27,8, & 5 on 40% shooting

2017
1st round- 33, 7, & 6 on 41% shooting
2nd round (the spurs series)- 24.5 PPG, 10, & 5 on 39% shooting. 10 points in the deciding game 7 which the Spurs won by 39. Should be noted that he put 43,28, & 33 in the games 4-6 of this series. Bad series but not horrible. People just look at game 7 and criticize.

2018
1st round- 29,7, & 5 on 39% shooting
2nd round-28,7, & 5 on 40% shooting
Conference finals-29,6, & 6 on 41% shooting

2019
1st round- 28,8, & 7 on 37% shooting
2nd round- 35,5, & 7 on 46% shooting. This was the series when KD went down. My one beef with Harden was he wasn't aggressive in the 4th of that game 5 when the series was there for them

2020
1st round- 30,8, & 6 on 46% shooting
2nd round-29,7, & 5 on 47% shooting

These are the numbers of the man who allegedly doesn't care and disappear in the playoffs. This year we're going to see the best version of Harden in the playoffs because teams can no longer lock in on him as we saw the Lakers do last year.

Quoting averages isn't going to show how he comes up short in the clutch in the playoffs.

Locally, for a long time the grocery stores closed early for cleaning and restocking and little was left on the shelves. Going early was almost worse than going during the day, as people were trying to get all the stuff that goes out of stock right after it's stocked. Plus, I've never been a morning person (despite having to be to work by 8am). My sleep schedule has gone so far to shit over the past year that I often get as much or more sleep right after dinner than I do overnight.

So if he played poorly for 47 minutes but hit a big shot it would be the 47 minutes his critics would point to. Play exceptional for 47+ minutes and miss a late shot it's the late shot the critics remember. Does it matter in the latter scenario his team is not even in position to win if not for his exceptional play the first 47 min.+

does this apply to all elite players or only the ones who have large following of those who don't like said player?

I’m extremely glad for Williams, he is such a class act and great coach. He was an assistant with the Thunder when his wife was killed in an accident and they still had 4 young kids.

I was just as upset on Saturday. Second to last day of the season and the only official NBA production on was the HOF induction? That couldn't have waited until Monday? It's already a year late. I could've watched the Knicks or Nets games on their cable networks, but meh.

Lol go tell your employer you don’t care about your job, see where that gets you. The fact that he is an athlete has nothing to do with it, I don’t like idiots.
Cannot say I care for his comments, but if the employee is among the best at what he does in the world they might just say "how can we make things better for you".

What's weird is neither LA team wanted to face the other. They're both scared?
Lakers didn't have a choice. They won out down the stretch trying to improve their seeding and avoid the play-in. It's not the best matchup for the Lakers, which makes it all the more odd that the Clips are avoiding it. Clips are 3-0 vs the Lakers this season, 8-3 since Lebron arrived.

Yeah, you can't exactly compare an employee making a living wage in a 9-5 to a professional athlete that teams actively pursue obtaining that makes tens of millions annually and makes the team revenue even when he's not playing.
