Yeah they looked in control then the Clippers fought back. Two really good teams easily could be Finals matchup

The Sixers were down 2 starters as well and their backup center.

Clippers shot 49% from 3 on 39 shots. That will keep you in a lot of games.

Lol Kawhi is their best player. They're also still without Ibaka and Beverly

Who was the other Sixeds starter out? I know Tobias didn't play

Patrick Patterson out of nowhere had the game of his life. Was really upset at the Sixers 3rd quarter.

The Clippers were crusing it at the arc. Everytime the Sixers would start to build a lead, they would hit 3 straight 3s and get right back into it.

Seth Curry. Having Mike Scott and Furkan Korkmaz as our starters was not ideal.

Would the Clippers have shot better than 49% from 3 if Leonard was playing?

I'm not saying that the Clippers would still have lost if Leonard was playing. But you can't just assume that they would have won either. It would have been a different game from the outset.

That’s on Doc to a certain extent. With no Kawhi, I would have let them try to get to the hole without helping off of shooters. I mean, Clippers have the best 3% percentage in the league. That’s not the luck of making shots. That’s the system they employ manufacturing open looks. When you help off of shooters you’re doing exactly what they want you to do.

Also...interested in your thoughts on this. It seems like when Furkan starts, he gives the Sixers his best minutes. What do you think of Furkan taking Seth’s spot in the starting line up and bringing Seth off the bench? He’s been a sub his whole career. I think that’s the best role for him. I think with the addition of Curry and eventually George Hill to the second group you have more bullets on your bench as those benches shorten come playoff time. Furkan is never going to be all nba defense but dude has improved quite a bit from being a defensive liability to a player who isn’t strong but adequate, especially when you have defensive players like Embiid Simmons and Green around him. Thoughts?

Furk has definitely upped his defensive game this year. While he's certainly not a + defender, he's not the sieve he was a couple of seasons ago. And it does seem his shooting is better when he starts.

As long it doesn't create an locker room strife, I don't see why not.

I kind of think Seth would low key welcome the move. He’s had mixed results as a starter this year. I think he recognizes where his niche is and that’s coming off the bench like his old man did.

Was Leonard going to guard Embiid?
Despite the 36 and 14, I thought Embiid could have been a better passer out of doubles last night. Especially in the 2nd half. I’m especially focused on that recently because it’s become evident in a playoff series everybody is going to double him.

The big difference is that, right now, Kork is willing to take the 3 point shot whenever it is given to him. He took 12 last night. Even if he is not lighting it up, his willingness to take those shots helps spread the floor. Seth lately has been a bit reticent to take that shot. That could be the deciding factor.

LOL.

Leonard is their best player.
A win is a win. The Sixers solitary right now goal is securing the one seed. They took care of business last night. Not worried about the Clippers in a 7 game series. Last night PG13 was incredible. “Playoff P” won’t be that guy in the playoffs. He shits the bed when the big lights come on.

Seth takes his craft so seriously, for him to take the three it has to be a certain catch with certain placement because he understands his rhythm. If there is even the slightest contest, he pump fakes and puts it on the floor. I’d much rather he Chuck more and hit 37-38% than him pass up looks to shoot 42%.

LOL.

Leonard is their best player.

OK? If Leonard was playing, would Embiid not have scored 36 points and grabbed 14 rebounds?

As I asked earlier, would the Clippers have shot BETTER than 49% from 3 with Leonard in?

We all know that Leonard is their best player. Which is why we shouldn't draw too many conclusions from the Sixers winning that game. But we shouldn't draw too many conclusions from ANY one game. Even if both teams are fully fit.
