How are you going to build a contender around a very ball dominant 30 point a game scorer who shoots 40%?

As a first or second option, that is really hard.

The 6ers did it in a different era with a bunch of gritty defenders who didn’t need the ball. That wouldn’t work today.

Sure, that would have been better.

AI was spectacular to watch. He was a great volume scorer, but not an efficient one. He was highly ball dominant and a career 42.5% shooter. Not a great defender either.

Players like that don’t tend to win many titles as your best player.

Sure don't....they also don't tend to drag a team like he did to the Finals. Maybe with more talented players to support him they go further/

No, I don’t think so. That year reminded me of the 2018 season in terms of disparity between East and West.

Maybe with more talented players demanding the ball they run into chemistry issues like with Melo.

and maybe not. There are talented players who are not ball dominant themselves. Like Klay? Maybe a more talented big that would need the PG to get him the ball. One better than Ratliff or Hill.
