Great offense beats great defense every time.

lol

What!?!

Literally NOT what the saying is. That's the opposite of what the saying is.

We've seen all offense, no defense teams in the playoffs and they don't win championships. How many teams with defenses outside the top 10 have won titles?

The average defensive rating of the 45 NBA champions since the NBA/ABA merger in 1976 is 5.2.

In fact, if memory serves, the last NBA champion that finished outside the top 10 was the 2001 Lakers and they actually were the #1 defense in the playoffs that season.

Teams with defenses like the Nets rarely make the playoffs, let alone win a title.

I'm talking about 1 on 1 type deal. Not team defense. Players can defend really well and the great players still make tough shots. This happens every night in the NBA

Considering what I posted above...that's about what they'll have to average if they're going to win a title.

They allow 114 PPG (not saying that's good) but in the playoffs the game slows down a bit. If they can score around 115 during the playoffs, they'll be in decent shape

Stop it.

You said great offense beats great defense every time as part of your justification for why the Sixers couldn't beat the Nets in a series. That has everything to do with team defense.

No it doesn't. You just argue to argue.

Name the 3 INDIVIDUAL DEFENDERS on Philly who will constantly stop Durant, Harden, and Irving in a best of 7.

To beat Brooklyn in a 7 game series, you need to have 2 of the following 3 things

1) 3+ solid 1 on 1 defenders

2) A good post player to dominate the Nets soft bigs

3) Consistent outside shooting.

IMO the teams that fit my criteria the best are:

Clippers, Bucks, and Lakers

Getting outrebounded by 16 and Spo don't think it is a good idea to give Dedmon any playing time lol

This Heat team doesn't believe in next man up. Someone on ESPN made a great point a few weeks ago. For whatever reason, when the Heat are without even one of their key pieces they just look like a different team which shouldn't happen. Not always going to have your players available.

Such a frustrating season

If I had to take a guess, this teams end up at 39-33/40-32. Have no clue what seed that record will be good enough for

Yep, the Pistons did it vs the Lakers.

Saying Curry and Green would have to score 30 to have a shot? Yeah, you're high.

They avg about 22 now between them. It is asking them to basically make 3 more shots.

Also, I said close to 30 btwn the 2....not 30

Green avg about 10 and Seth avg 12.

If they both can give you 3 more PPG in a series vs Brooklyn, that get those 2 to 28 PPG. Little stuff like that can make a huge difference in a series.

February version of Ben Simmons would be amazing as well. Avg 21,8, & 8

That's on Grayson Allen. 91% ft shooter missed both. Got to at least make one

@fightinfunbags was it you who said Ben plays his best around the time of AS voting?

I just looked at his splits the last 3 seasons including this year.

His best month in the previous 2 seasons was January and this year it was February aka months where all star team/voting is finalized lol

Curry and Green IMO will have to score close to 30 per game if Philly wants a legit chance at beating Brooklyn and Ben need to be aggressive as he was a few months ago
How they gonna do that while they're still on the Warriors?
