Meh. If cheap enough. DeRozan still won't space the floor even as well as Kuzma.

Kuzma really isn’t a great floor spacer either though.

And DeRozan has advanced feel and is a very good secondary playmaker.

I don’t think it is a great fit either, but if we are talking a choice between DeRozan and Kuzma, DeRozan is a MUCH better player.

Sure, but if he's expecting anything close to his former contract, he's too expensive, especially for a career 28% 3 point shooter (25.7% last year) going to a team that really needs 3 pt shooting around Lebron and AD more than anything else. Kuzma shot 36% from 3 last year and has made solid strides defensively. It's just his inconsistency that is maddening, but he needs a more consistent role to settle into. Kuzma is $13M, DeRozan was $27M last year.

Depends on what their other options are.

Wouldn’t be my 1st choice for sure.

If by some miracle he wants to come home and ring chase for the vet min (or even part or all of the MLE), then could be OK. Anything more and it's a hard no.

In think MLE might be a possibility.

I definitely think he wants to play for a contender. Do any contenders have cap space to pay him more?

Depends on cap holds being rescinded or not.

Interesting. I'm guessing as a Lakers fan you'd rather have deRozan over Kuzma.

Not necessarily. He doesn't really address the most pressing needs. He's a bit underrated as a playmaker (doubled his assist average over the past 3 years from 3.1 to 6.2), so he could help there. But he's a 23% 3 point shooter for the past 3 seasons and 28% for his career. At least Kuzma is respectable from 3 (36% last year, 34% career).

Thanks for the breakdown. Wasn't sure if he'd fit with your Lakers or not.

I mean, based on how Schroder was last year, I think I'd rather have DeRozan than him. At least DeRozan isn't likely to come in and be an asshole like Schroder apparently did. But there are other players they can get that I think would be better based on what they need.

I haven't really read it yet, but this seems like it might be good for an lol.

I don't see how it can happen, but if it can, something like that would be a good way for DeRozan to fit a little better.

there’s no question Simmons value is down from 6 months ago.

Morey needs to find a 3rd team for Simmons and get beal
We already worked this out. All Philly and Wizards fans here approve:

Warriors get Simmons
Sixers get Beal
Wizards get Wiseman, 7 and 14 this year, Maxey, and salary filler

Win win win

Right, I never understand Minny and their gameplan. They have a star in KAT and it reminds me of when Love was there, it's only a matter of time before he gets traded. Probably in the next two seasons.
That's because they are the worst franchise in the NBA (maybe Sacramento is close?)

I can see that. But there’s been one than one reporter who covers the team who have stepped out and said that the two had a hard time coexisting together. The Kawhi year in Toronto when they eliminated the Sixers in 7, the story was that Ben Simmons was pissed that Brown took him off the ball and utilized Butler in that role in the playoffs.
A couple years go by, things change. Surely if Simmons ends up on the Heat he and Butler will talk and figure it out.

Speaking of Schroder didn't the Lakers offer him a nice contract but he turned it down?
