It seems like if Sexton was traded OKC would be the destination. It doesn't make sense to trade him for only draft picks so there would probably be players included from both sides. Kinda leaning towards no Sexton trade to this point though.

They are probably trying to get rid of that Kemba contract as well.

And then there are the Miami Heat, who have no current place in the draft, having long ago dealt both their 2021 first- and second-round picks to further facilitate veteran-laden rosters.

Instead, the focus of Pat Riley and the Heat front office over the next week will be on a 35-year-old guard they would like to acquire at Monday’s start of free agency and their own soon-to-be 32-year-old forward who next week becomes eligible for a four-year extension that will carry him into the season that he turns 36.

Now, if the next week continues to trend where the Heat and the prime protagonists seemingly would prefer, the Heat will stand as a team placing the majority of their hope in players in their mid-30s who will be under contract as their 40s approach.

Ultimately, this is all about Butler and Lowry, perceived self-worth, and where the market stands.

For Butler, who turns 32 on Sept. 14, it is about payment due. Next week, at the start of the NBA’s new cap calendar, he becomes eligible for a four-year, $188 million extension that would kick in at the start of the 2022-23 season, a contract that would carry him through his 36th birthday.

He wants it all. And he want it now. And based on where the Heat stand positioned against the salary cap going forward, there is little flexibility otherwise, especially with Bam Adebayo’s five-year, $163 million extension kicking in this season.

A lesson already established in the NBA is that an unhappy Jimmy Butler is a problematic Jimmy Butler, as evidenced by the ways it ended with the Chicago Bulls, Minnesota Timberwolves and Philadelphia 76ers.

But should it be the Heat? Can Riley afford to be on the hook for $77 million in combined salary to Butler and Lowry in 2023-24 when it hardly is a given that either will then be at All-Star level?

he NBA will become younger Thursday, as selections come off the draft board at Barclays Center. The Heat could grow significantly older in the days that follow.

There is little doubt that the 2021-22 Heat would be an upgraded Heat with Lowry added and Butler sated. But would it also be a case of a team blinded by living in the moment?

Hate to say this but damn.....I know GS is infatuated with Lill and Beal but Siakam is perfect for the Warriors.

Trade Wiggins, (maybe include Wiseman?) and those picks and bam.....they reloaded with Steph, Klay, Siakam and Green.

DJ, the Warriors aren't infatuated with Lillard or Beal. But yes Siakam is a good fit if they don't give up too much
